Template:Untested-build

This build is a Monk/Dervish variation of the D/Mo 130hp Dervish build, as well as the "New Age Invinci-Monk" build. This build can be used as a extremely effective means of tanking warrior bosses/mobs, and can also be used to farm bosses mentioned on the D/Mo 130hp Dervish build's page. It won't work well against necromancers/mesmers/casters that use hex spells and cause conditions. Superior runes are used to get the Monk's health down to 105. It is mainly for those who want to use their Monk rather than create a new character for the Dervish version.

  • Most of these skills are crucial to the build's success. If any of the skills are replaced, you must consider the Health and Energy regeneration carefully. Most of the Scythe Mastery based skills can be replaced with Healing Prayers or Protection Prayers for extreme tanking.

Equipment

  • A complete set of Ascetics Armor. Any design and any armor level is acceptable.
  • The Icy Soulbreaker of Enchanting is a very effective and probably most efficient, and easy to get, scythe to use, if it is possible for you to acquire. If you can't get that weapon, any max damage scythe with a customized scythe with a Scythe Grip Of Enchanting and a Sundering Scythe Snathe will work efficiently.

Usage

At the start of the area, find a group of mobs to kill yourself in. This will reduce your HP to 33. Alternatively, you can go straight in with 105 HP, though tanking isn't as effective. Next, cast Balthazar's Spirit, Essence Bond and Blessed Aura.

Run to a group of mobs, or towards the boss you wish to kill and select the main mob or boss you wish to kill. When the enemies are just outside the Danger Zone, cast Protective Spirit and Shield of Absorption. Then cast Eremite's Attack, Mystic Sweep and Reaper's Sweep, rinse and repeat. Whenever your Protective Spirit and Shield of Absorption are recharged, make sure to cast them right away, this is where Divine Favor plays it's part in keeping you alive. There is half a second where SoA isn't actually up, so make sure you cast it again right when it has recharged to keep you alive. Keep alternating between the spells until the target is dead, then if you wish, swap to the next enemy.

This build is slow against a group where there is a healer, and that foe should be taken out before any other.

Counters

  • Mesmer Bosses/Mobs
  • End Game Necromancer Bosses/Mobs
  • Any Bosses/Mobs that can cast hexes and cause major conditions.

Variants

If anyone would like to add "Variants" of this build, please go ahead and do so.

Notes

This is probably not as efficient as the Dervish version of this build, though, it saves a lot of time (As opposed to actually making another D/Mo character).
