I've done it in nm and hm nm is the fastest way if you do decide to do hard mode you would need to echo ether instead of chaos storm too prevent the degen takes a long amount of time so i would preffer nm. For the Scattering They will not attempt to scatter until the last damage dealt from chaos storm due to there low health. also from cop damage if casted too soon the multiple damage packets will have them scatter.--Jpuzimaki13 05:27, July 1, 2010 (UTC)

This is way faster than the other ledge farm we have.

Hard mode

I just found a way to farm the dudes in hard mode with the reverse build to this using a mesmer primary using this <pvxbig> [build prof=Me/A fas=10+1+3 dom=8+3 sha=12][Deadly Paradox][Shadow Form][Shroud of Distress][Arcane Echo][Chaos Storm][Ether Nightmare (Kurzick)][Cry of Pain][Death's Charge][/build] </pvxbig>

Well if your not using a high energy set then would be best you to use something for e-management but channeling would not work out so well due to the fact that you would have to get close to the dryders and dream riders which will cause a fast scatter in hm just by getting close to them.--Jpuzimaki13 01:47, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

Alternate usage

Hey there, thanks for reading. After trying the build numerous times, I discovered that the scatter mentioned when casting CoP early DOESN'T MATTER. The mobs die because of the degen anyway.

Old Usage:

  • Go to the corner near ledge.
  • Pre-cast Shroud of Distress and Shadow Form.
  • Shadow Step to a Dryder or Dream Rider and begin balling.
  • After balling is finished cast SF again.
  • Cast Arcane Echo → Chaos Storm → echoed Chaos Storm.
  • Wait for the health of the dryder to get to the dr(yd)er part of his name or Dre(am) in the Riders name.
  • As soon as their health reaches that area begin casting Ether Nightmare
  • Cast Cry of Pain right after the 2nd to last or last storm deals its damage(casting CoP too early will cause scatter).


My Usage:

  • ... (same as above)
  • Wait for the health of the dryder to get to the dr(yd)er part of his name or Dre(am) in the Riders name.
  • As soon as their health reaches that area begin casting Ether Nightmare, directly followed by CoP.
  • Wait for the degen to kill the mobs.

This has never failed - every time I used this timing the mobs scattered, but died because of the degen caused by CoP and Ether Nightmare.

Additional information: Luxon r1 Sunspear r8 (<-- might cause my CoP to be more effective)

Well reason for cast cop later is reduce chances of scatter before chaos storm runs out(Multiple damage packets with both chaos storms and cop will instantly cause scatter). rank 3 kurzick is cause you are at 7 degen and cop at r1 would br 3 reaching the maximum degen allowed in game which is 10 reaching r8 and r1 kurz or lux can do the same thing but takes a little bit longer to work on. and faction titles are account wide while sunspear is per character they are suppose to scatter exactly when cop is casted or the end of chaos storm due to either multiple dmg packets as I explained or low health--Jpuzimaki13 01:43, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

Wastrels new nerf is similar to the damage dealt by chaos storm but minus the scattering. there no degen in the skill anymore so taking ether+cop=max degen then spamming wastrels on 1 or multiple targets would kill them off in a mere 25seconds shoot it can be some times less if your fast enough--66.69.115.252 12:23, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

It's a lot more often then that, I remember when I did the ledge after the SF nerf I would get 1 or 2 every 5 runs. Frosty 08:19, September 7, 2010 (UTC)

Tip for balling?

Whatever I do - the three riders disperse in such a way that at least one of them is very far away from the others - given the fact that you run out of energy soon ... is there a trick to keep the riders together so that you can draw the dryders into them? 79.216.203.87 18:12, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

This isn't the easiest pull - I'm a seasoned farmer (easily 60 million+ exp of farming, if not more) but I tried starting from the ledge and waiting for dream riders and dryders to come to me and then running around and away from the ledge, but that causes the dream riders to scatter. The trick seems to be to run around the ledge, shadow step to the dryders, then run away from the ledge, wait for the dream riders to aggro, then pull all the way back to the ledge. --Falseprophet 17:21, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
