What does this have over all the ele builds? — Teh Uber Pwnzer 07:21, 28 March 2008 (EDT)
Nothing, just that ranger's who want to farm raptor nestlings can do it easily. Edlittle 07:24, 28 March 2008 (EDT)

If you don't farm don't comment on farming builds, if a ranger can't swing 32 energy something's wrong. --71.229 15:45, 28 March 2008 (EDT)
Air of Superiority has a one in five chance to gain 5 energy. You also have a base 45 energy, and +5-15 depending on Asura rank. The raptors scatter if they get hit a lot, but don't die, so attack them with your staff and they will come back to you. Edlittle 18:39, 28 March 2008 (EDT)
Good job on reworking the build and making one effective for HM. I am happy you did not take my comments as demeaning, but took them as a manner of encouragement to better your farming!!! - Lord Xivor 05:17, 29 March 2008 (EDT)
Watching your video I think my computer would freeze if that many enemies were actively attacking on screen 76.26 21:13, 29 March 2008 (EDT)
It was only slow because my computer, with Vista running in the background and Camtasia recording, couldn't handle all that stuff, normally it goes at a perfect speed. Edlittle 15:53, 30 March 2008 (EDT)

Why Stone Striker instead of Armor of Earth? Armor of earth gives around 50 armor at 12 earth, and stone striker will give you 115 armor with Eartbound insigs. is it the movement speed that says no to armor of earth?Matti Nuke 15:12, 31 March 2008 (EDT)

Stone Striker is mainly so that when you get hit, it is much less. Instead of getting hit for 45s, you get hit for 20s, allowing to take more hits before dying or getting up magnetic aura. Edlittle 18:32, 31 March 2008 (EDT)
@71.229 I can comment on anything I whant. --Super Igor 15:52, 31 March 2008 (EDT)

you could add grasping earth into the variants that would help with what little scatter there is

I'd like to confirm that the raptors do scatter with sliver armor.

Ive tried this multiple times in Nm with no problems, but every time to try HM with this they DO Scatter.

The only reason that they scatter is because of the damage. They are obviously taking too little damage over too much time. It's basically the AI kiting. The simple solution to the problem is to attack them with your staff, and they will come back. Edlittle 18:58, 14 April 2008 (EDT)

Points per hour/run?

Most of the faction farming builds state how efficient they are at farming points. Before I test out this build I'd like to know roughly how fast you would make these points compared to other builds/places! (ignoring the benefits of air of superiority)

To be honest, this farm points poorly imo.
Ive advanced two ranks in my Asura title farming Raptors, if you're farming them for golds etc anyway its not a bad way to get some easy points along the way. Selket Shadowdancer 06:56, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
It is impossible to ignore the benefits of AoS due to the fact that you need instant recharge it offers for the run to be possible. However, my runs have averaged around 157 per run, at 1 run per 2 minutes or so. 20:59, 19 July 2008 (EDT)

Optional slot idea

You could also put in Storm Chaser in the optional slot of EBSoH is not available to the player. Gives you some extra energy. Just an idea :) --AngelusShoveAngelus 18:12, 23 April 2008 (EDT)

Ooh that's a good idea, although it can't be used if they aren't blinded yet, because 25% hit chance is bad with 30+ baddies attacking. Edlittle 21:12, 24 April 2008 (EDT)
Please sign all of your comments using the four tildes (~~~~) please... Escape is just fine for this build. If you did watch the video, you will notice that Air of Superiority takes care of all of those needs with its random bonuses. I don't think this would be needed much Joshgt2Charge! Joshgt2 (Talk) 07:10, 24 April 2008 (EDT)
Ahhh you're right Josh. Just realized you couldn't keep up Escape and SC at the same time anyway. Oh well. --AngelusShoveAngelus 15:43, 24 April 2008 (EDT)

The video's broken, who wants to have a shot at 15 minutes of fame? ICYFIFTYFIVE 20:16, 1 June 2008 (EDT)

Not keeping aggro

I'm trying this out in NM first, to get the hang of the skills etc, but the nestlings don't keep aggro. They just try a stab or two, and even when I'm standing still they won't keep attacking, is it better in HM? It's not just one or two that runs away, and I don't have sliver up or anything, they just won't keep attacking.

They keep aggro in NM if you dont run ahead of them too far, I generally walk a bit, then stop so they can catch up and settle, then carry on, etc. If you do this on HM thats where an IMS comes in handy. Selket Shadowdancer 06:54, 3 June 2008 (EDT)

I find this is more reliable with a Totem Axe and a Shield (you will get +8 armour) with +45 Health while enchanted and -2 Received Damage while enchanted mods. 22:24, 14 June 2008 (EDT)

Problem with that is that you can't bring back the Broodmother if she runs away. You COULD switch to a staff if needed.
I use a wand switch so you still get the shield benefit 13:47, 18 June 2008 (EDT)
Oh that's a good idea, but energy might be a problem. Edlittle 00:44, 19 June 2008 (EDT)

This one has me confused. I've got this exact build and I'm trying to run it, but I damage nothing. And not the kind of exaggerated "I practically do nothing to them!" mess either, I mean Sliver Armor isn't really doing anything. I know my first permasin, I had to practice a little but at least I got the hang of it on my third try. But two tries with this one and two deaths later, I can't figure the build out. Raptors are attacking me but Sliver armor isn't hitting them back like they did on my perma. What am I doing wrong?-- User Vanguard VanguardLogoanguard 17:56, 20 January 2009 (EST)

itsa one skill change. just make a note on the other page if it makes ppl happy--UnderImage- (PvP)Gunned 05:12, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

I just want to note I strongly disagree with deleting this page because it works much better for ranger than the other build. I see the other one being for casters. I tried the other one and didnt survive 20 seconds, wheter with this one, even if I screw up I am still able to kill about half of them. 18:05, 4 March 2009 (CET)
Also this article is older than the aforementioned article that it dupes. Big sadface sigBiggles Strongfist™ Sysop 17:07, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps a merge, with the note on the other page or maybe even just list under variants. Again, its a one skill difference with pretty much the Exact same usage. The other build is built for a broader range of characters (all caster classes) with the small adjustment this one fits fine--UnderImage- (PvP)Gunned 03:17, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
I love how everyone hates the fact that there are 200x raptor builds yet whenever you try to merge existing ones there is no attention lolz. 23:50, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Merging sounds good, it's just a variant with one skill replaced.Gaia Iberia 14:18, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
If they're both vetted to the same category, then take the newer build and mark it for deletion and merge it into the older build as a variant or w/e. - Panic sig7 14:20, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

I'm a Prophecies/Eye of the North Only Account, variant?

I can't run Sliver Armor, so what would be a fair Variant? I can't replace the

sliver is pretty much what makes you able to kill anything with a half decent time, there's no replacement either. Godbox 17:16, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Other places?

I like this build and it works great, but are there any other places that this could farm other then just raptors?

I'm going to venture a guess that there aren't any worth farming that couldn't be done faster with something else. The conditions of raptor farming aren't really duplicated fully anywhere else in GW. Toraen talk 20:01, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Sliver Armor Change

Just tested this after the change to Sliver Armor, and it no longer works. It targets random raptors and caused massive scattering. I didn't kill a single raptor, much less the broodmother. This needs to be reworked or archived, Imo. Sad too, now I need to go back to leeching off the W/N's :( 03:03, May 22, 2010 (UTC)

Just ran it, none of the raptors scattered, how did that happen for you? though it seems rekoff now takes a heck of a lot longer to die, i couldn't kill her. MrMetalFLower-...tlk 03:22, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
That's incredibly odd...I just ran it several more times and the raptors still scattered like flies, enough that I couldn't maintain all their aggros by wanding them. I managed to kill a few by settling into a niche along the edge of the rock which body blocked them a tad better, but they still fled the scene, enough that my damage output suffered. The randomly targeted damage from sliver armor is way to crazy to reliably run this build, at least for me. Idk what I'm doing wrong, running it like I always did pre-update. What to do, what to do... 03:53, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
Bump? I CAN NOT get this to work after the sliver nerf. The broodmother doesn't die and I'm lucky if five raptors die. Any thoughts....? (forgot to sign) 03:29, May 28, 2010 (UTC)
If you don't care about HM, try this E/Me - UG Raptor Farming NM, I haven't tested it after the sliver nerf but you should be able to kill at least the nestlings because sliver worked mainly as a protection. AriaFrost 09:39, May 28, 2010 (UTC)
