Why have this as a mesmer primary if you are not going to utilize fast castin? An elle primary would give you access to a higher energy pool for lesser effect but more sustained harassment/interupts. Against melee or ranged attackers this has a decent ability to put em on their but, but you are focus spamming on one target. I sugest trying a replacement of Frustration for Arcane Conundrum with Illusion as high as it is. It will slow down casters and still give you a chance to switch back to the warrior or ranger and give you chance to interupt those nasty short casting monk spells. Will take some of the bite out of the build but will give you better shutdown against all caster types. The build works, but suffers in consistancy or multiple target focus (It can handle both casters and warriors, but only 1 target at a time). Shireen 16:50, 11 May 2007 (CEST)

Frustration is sort of the point of the build, it damages the foe whenever they are interrupted, including interrupts from Lightning Javelin. Arcane Conundrum is certainly an option, but it costs more and isn't continuously maintainable, besides Frustration has some casting slowdown as well. Tycn 02:57, 12 May 2007 (CEST)
I sorta like this idea. knockdown and damage. =) havent tried it yet, but the concept is cool. Giangn626 03:35, 20 May 2007 (CEST)
Erm.. guys, read closely, Fustration only damages while you interrupt a spell. Yea, if Fustration activated on every interrupt, i'd just make a Dwarvern Battle Stance warrior with fustration and pwn everyone.BaineTheBotter 17:21, 20 May 2007 (CEST)
...Thus i suggest the "Useage" tab be corrected accordingly, as per to the fustration part, not the Psychic Instability part. BaineTheBotter 17:23, 20 May 2007 (CEST)
Frustration actually does trigger on any interrupt, the description is incorrect (or was incorrect the last time I used it, a few days ago). Go to the gwiki page and check the notes if you're still not sure. Tycn 08:33, 21 May 2007 (CEST)
Or even better, test it yourself Swiftslash \\ Impale 08:42, 21 May 2007 (CEST)
Yeh, Frustration activates on any interrupt. DE Sig Test 2 *Defiant Elements* +talk 15:12, 21 May 2007 (CEST)
Then wouldn't Dwarvern Battle Stance + Fustration deal quite a fair amount of damage while effectively shutting off spells/attack skills? if so, why isnt there any builds on it? BaineTheBotter 15:37, 21 May 2007 (CEST)
Yeh, it's been done before. DE Sig Test 2 *Defiant Elements* +talk 15:41, 21 May 2007 (CEST)
Where is it then? cant seem to find it in both unfavoured and favoured. if so, how did the vetting go? BaineTheBotter 16:04, 21 May 2007 (CEST)

Hi, just for the record, tried out the DBS and frustration combo, its too energy intensive for a warrior to be considered really effective. Better ways of interrupting out there. IMHO. Angel138 12:29, 30 May 2007 (CEST)

Oh, this is just plain evil. Use of Lightning Javelin as a spam interrupt/trigger is a great idea. Pure Mesmer pain-in-the-rearness.Egon 13:22, 25 May 2007 (CEST)

Omfg... I HAVE to try this when I get home... WOW. ~~User Frvwfr2 signature frvwfr2 (talk···contributions) 13:39, 25 May 2007 (CEST)

This is a prime example of a great build thoery but fails as a strong interupter. Weak damage and is very limited to support. More than a 4 man team is needed to allow this into their slot. Skill stack is split for major against melee and minor against casters, and does not hold up to holding down melee types and lacks sustainment against caster types. I did my best to work with what ya got, but it just didn't hold up. Sorry, but this is one of those builds best left in the unfavored section as an example of a really F*ing good concept. Well done, just not strong enough. Shireen 05:24, 1 June 2007 (CEST)

Very true, sadly enough. Though the question of effectiveness is a bit more subjective, it's just a more active approach than most hex builds, and focuses on disruption. Tycn 02:38, 2 June 2007 (CEST)

This concept has totally inspired me thanks for sharing it :D RoxanneRutterfly 16:35, 16 June 2007 (EDT)

It is a pretty good idea for frustration, but I guess I'd like to see a little more variety in terms of skills. A bar completely covered in interrupts can only go so far. What happens when you face classes with no spells or rapid skill chaining? --Skimp 17:22, 9 July 2007 (CEST)

Power Return

I think PR might be a bit counterproductive, especially when going against monks, you would just give them enough energy to heal themself. Why not just take clumsiness? -Dean Harper

The build originally had Clumsiness, but energy quickly becomes very hard to manage. Power Return can sometimes backfire on you, but usually interrupting, damaging, and knocking down a monk under pressure, especially if you interrupt something important like ZB, often results in a kill. Impressive

This build (while not the most effective of builds) is actually pretty damn fun to play. — Rapta Rapta Icon1 (talk|contribs) 18:35, 6 July 2007 (CEST)

Agreed, just looking at this makes me want to try it, I will review after I do that.Seika 08:50, 7 July 2007 (CEST)

Indeed, that is one perk of the build. I've had people rage quit after interrupting and knocking them down over and over again, and had derogatory comments flung at me. A good sign, i think :) Tycn 13:14, 7 July 2007 (CEST)

Ya, you can ignore his comment. He made it as a way to dishonor me. (by signing it as me origionally). ‽-(єяøηħ) no u 17:35, 9 July 2007 (CEST)

Complicate

Complicate instead of Leech Signet, Power Drain instead of Mantra. -Why would thie be less effective than the current build?161.253.47.77 16:31, 1 February 2008 (EST)

Less sig of clumsy spam. Swiftslash \\ Impale (contributions *sandbox) 16:39, 1 February 2008 (EST)

Nerfed

With Instability being moved from a hex to a hard interupt, it pretty much has just turned this build into a hard interupt build that could be better achieved through other means. Constant KD has now been moved back into the hands of the warrior *sniff* It's nerfed, and not nearly as effective as it once was. Shireenformer sysop 03:27, 14 March 2008 (EDT)
