This build is the standard for Mes in GvG, but how is this good in AB? People die and res constantly there, they don't need to be shutdown. --Evernix 17:17, 22 September 2007 (CEST)

AB tag should be removed imo. --Evernix 20:32, 23 September 2007 (CEST)

Don't foget to put some in Air :D -Anti Oath

The problem with using the air attribute, and by that i assume you mean Gale, is that the 10 energy isnt worth the nerfed knockdown. It used to be 3 seconds, but now it is 2. -Dean Harper

Prophecies Build?

If we replace resurrection chant with something else, we could label this under prophecies build as well. :P --Flag of South Korea Grumpy (Talk | Contrib) 18:15, 3 July 2007 (CEST)

Resurrect — Skuld 07:00, 4 July 2007 (CEST)
The only other res spell which is ever used in this build is Flesh of my Flesh. You could add Resurrect as a variant for people with only Prophecies I guess, but how many people with only Prophecies play GvG (or any kind of PvP except RA) at all? Oh well, I'll add it just in case. I Noob I 07:16, 4 July 2007 (CEST)
FotM blows, give me chant any day. — Skuld 07:55, 4 July 2007 (CEST)
rawr and others run DPS or fomf, most use DPS, unless it has to be a monk secondary (drawwhore etc), in which case they'd use res chant. Any half-decent guild will interrupt a FC res chant, it just takes too long. And between FoMF and DPS, DPS is the better res. -Auron 07:59, 4 July 2007 (CEST)
I've seen FomF (personally I like it a lot, mainly because of the instant recharge and decent range compared with Res Chant), but never seen anyone use DPS on a mesmer, only as a backup hard res on a warrior. Interesting - must be a US vs Europe thing. DPS is the better res until someone dies again, at which point it becomes one of the better sources of comedy in the game. You'd be pretty crazy to take it as your primary hard res I think - I'm sure most teams which run it also have res chant or sig of return or another less exciting hard res in their team and use DPS only when the first res fails. I Noob I 08:16, 4 July 2007 (CEST)
Any of the normal guilds I play against can interrupt res chants in their sleep... which is why hardly anyone takes it in top-rated GvG. DPS is fine, it's mostly a monk res - DPS is the primary res, sigs are saved for the DPS-er. -Auron 08:55, 4 July 2007 (CEST)
I've just been watching KGYU play. They took a Me/Rt in one of their 4 matches in the AT, and he never used his res so I don't know which it was. They only ever ressed with res sigs and sig of return (and yes, they died a lot, including their monks - rit spike ftl). If he had DPS it was the backup not the primary hard res, like I said. I'm also not sure about "hardly anyone" using Res Chant - I suspect that's a US thing. Most top European guilds use it, including vD and Cry - it's much more common over here than DPS (or FomF) is. Yes it's interruptable, but then every good European team carries two hard resses now so that's often not a problem, particularly with FC and a 40% FC set. I Noob I 09:38, 4 July 2007 (CEST)
Most top American guilds(all two or three of them -_-) use Res Chant, as well, unless there's been a big change in the resurrection meta on par with the one caused by the introduction of NF and res chant in the last month. --Edru viransu 10:15, 4 July 2007 (CEST)

fotm is easy to interrupt too, and you run 20/20 focus and wand with chant — Skuld 10:46, 4 July 2007 (CEST)

Updated the Introduction, Attributes, Equipment, Usage, Counters and Variants sections

Can we change the build's name? MoR Domination mesmer or MoR Shutdown mesmer would be preferable. Only bad mesmers spam Diversion on recharge with this build; good mesmers use Power Leak at least as often.

The Attributes are a matter of personal taste (btw, I think I the Healing points are wrong, but it doesn't matter much). I put in 13 Dom to hit the Shame breakpoint, but I know a lot of people run 14 Dom with this build. I wouldn't go above 11 on the FC though - extra power for P Leak, Shame and Shatter are more important than having MoR up 24/7. I Noob I 06:55, 4 July 2007 (CEST)

Bugger it, I'm going to change the name myself. If I'm committing some major breach of wiki etiquette or something then please scream at me because I'm new.  :) I Noob I 06:57, 4 July 2007 (CEST)
This build was originally created to up-keep diversion. That's what it did. Readem (talk*pvxcontribs) 13:24, 4 July 2007 (CEST)
40% HSR is rather useless because it doesn't stack with MoR -- Fexghadi
They prolly meant HCT healing and dom, I'll fix that now. -Auron 23:25, 5 July 2007 (CEST)
Meh, it has HCT. The other mods are preference. -Auron 23:27, 5 July 2007 (CEST)
I say use other mods... at best, it can increase the cast time by ~4 points in fast casting, a tiny amount. I say use other focus and wand mods. ~~ User Frvwfr2 signature frvwfr2 (talk · contributions) 23:33, 5 July 2007 (CEST)
HCT is required tbh, any half-asleep BA can dshot a res chant or a diversion, even with 10 FC. -Auron 00:02, 6 July 2007 (CEST)
Will someone explain to me why HCT Dom mods are preferable equipment for this build? I've always kept to a set with a reliable cast time so that I can time my Diversions to hit things. HCT mods are unpredictable and sometimes screw with timing, so I don't see why one would want them. Am I overlooking something here? 10:03, 6 July 2007 (CEST)
Yep. Read above. Readem (talk*pvxcontribs) 10:04, 6 July 2007 (CEST)
I always play with a HCT set and my impression has been that the full effect stacks with your FC attribute as an exception to the usual stacking rules. I would swear that my Diversions cast in under a second at times, and I've seen a lot of rangers and even mesmers miss their interrupt on me because of it. Anyone else got a view on this? I Noob I 15:10, 6 July 2007 (CEST)
It does stack. A standard 9 or 10 FC diversion still takes longer than 1.5s to cast (easy work for any ranger to dshot). A HCT diversion casts in just over a second; on a HCT'd diversion, you (the mesmer) don't see the skill's activation bar on your screen (as that bar only shows for skills that take 1.5s or longer to activate). -Auron 17:58, 6 July 2007 (CEST)

Why would you drop Leak on a mesmer, especially for a less spammable minidshot(which is itself a more spammable minidiversion)? --Edru viransu//QQ about me/sysop 04:58, 6 September 2007 (CEST)
"Because." Hell if I know, lock isn't countered by focus swapping though. It's a decent skill, especially with mor. –Ichigo724Ichigo-signature 05:32, 6 September 2007 (CEST)

Odds are this build will die, as some of its biggest assets (ability to keep diversion on them indefinately) are gone. Anyway, the MoR nerf makes me wonder: why not just go Me/Rt and use WoQ? --Guild of Deals 19:30, 14 October 2007 (CEST)
