SS on a frenzy war + spirit bond on that same war = invinciwar — Skakid9090 07:39, 18 August 2007 (CEST)
Um... Spirit Bond doesn't actually trigger on taking 60 damage. It trigger before reduction and increases to the amount of damage a person takes. This is why PS + SB is so ownzzz. It's also why SB + Frenzy > PS + Frenzy. Also, who cares if a warrior's invincible? He's not killing stuff through price, reckless, and faint, so I'd much rather his monks be wasting energy on spirit bonding him than on actually removing the hexes, preveiling him, or protting the rest of their team. --Edru viransu//QQ about me 07:44, 18 August 2007 (CEST)

Merge with Build:N/E_SS_Warder?PheNaxKian (T/c)Tag thumb 21:53, 29 September 2007 (CEST)

These are the types of builds that i have the most experience with.. and I just wanted to get one thing across - this is not using anti-melee skills to the fullest. perhaps in GvG or HA, where you need to shut down multiple melee targets, it's the best usage, if you are the only one using antimelee skills, or even if there is a blinder, but even then, it's better to use inspiration magic because you can use spirit of failure, and inspiration skills for energy management - the build is hard on energy no matter what, though. the above build is weaker than ones i have used in the past, and i have used it; and am still forced to use it on occasion. but it does not have the same power as other builds. by other builds, i mean, get rid of faintheartedness and put in spirit of failure, max out inspiration magic to 12 with 3 into soul reaping. personallly i prefer ether lord and power drain, but if you aren't comfortable with those skills, stick with GoLE, but know that in my opinion that is the weaker version of this build. Brian 08:26, 8 December 2007 (CET)

back before the nerfs... i got 80+ consecutive wins starting from RA, back when spirit of failure, SS, and reckless only cost 10 energy not 15, and you got about 4 energy from SoF. i did that using 9 insp and 9 illusion, and using conjure fantasm and distortion rather than the above mentioned ether lord and power drain. but now the build in general is not even really viable. even though i did just give what i would call the more powerful version. it's just trash to me. Brian 08:26, 8 December 2007 (CET)

the best way to use anti melee in my opinion is to use it to get past (shut down) the melee chars to attack the monks, which there are several ways to do - you can put some attributes into blood magic and use mark of subversion and spikes. another VERY controversial way of doing that is to use a real weapon - spears are best because of their range, and because they are the highest damaging one handed weapon. Brian 08:26, 8 December 2007 (CET)

Either brian is the most epic troll ever, or this is who he is. Axes do more dmg than spears and there's no point to put points into blood magic for "spike skills". Moush 17:57, 25 January 2008 (EST)
actually axes do the lowest amount of damage per second out of all martial weapons. although spears do more damage per hit than a sword, swords attack speed outweighs this causing a slightly higher damage per second than spears, although still significantly higher than axes. no variants? i'd suggest Signet of Lost Souls , Insidious Parasite , Defile Defenses--Drownz 17:21, 1 February 2008 (EST)

Definitely not Insidious Parasite. Costs too much energy and opponents are going to be missing a lot of attacks from your other hexes. I prefer Signet of Lost Souls. You really need the extra energy to cast all of your big hexes on recharge. Zuranthium 15:57, 8 February 2008 (EST)

OMG is every build using Glyph getting one of these tags? Some builds, you know, actually use Glyph to cover steep energy costs, not just to cancel spam you know >_> Gaze Of Balthazar 21:17, 6 March 2008 (EST)

Ditto. This is a nerf to a silly tactic, not a nerf to the build. --GEO-logo Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 12:58, 7 March 2008 (EST)
Actually, glyph-cancelling dying's a pretty big deal for a hexer running price and SS, mostly because you're probably not going to get them off now. — Edru/QQ 13:02, 7 March 2008 (EST)
For this build alone, glyph-canceling is merely a nifty trick, not a vital part of the build; and you still have Soul Reaping, so energy's not that big of a deal anyway. --GEO-logo Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 13:37, 7 March 2008 (EST)
Against a decent ranger or mes, you're not going to get off many prices or ss's without the ability to cancel-cast to fake out ints. — Edru/QQ 13:43, 7 March 2008 (EST)
There's a limit to how many interrupts they'll be carrying, I just pile the rest of the hexes on them instead. Save SS for last if you have to, a Ranger will either have to "waste" an interrupt on Price or Reckless Haste, or they'll have a 50% miss chance when they go for that SS. And cancel-casting still works, even if it's going to cost you more energy; I generally find myself with energy to spare even with all those 15e costs on the bar. The tactic is definitely hurt, but I still fully believe the build doesn't suffer much from the loss. A good interrupter is still a pain in the ass, cancel-casting or not. --GEO-logo Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 23:49, 7 March 2008 (EST)

With a bar like that, you could equally play a Mesmer Primary instead. Also, Foul Feast should be on just about every Necromancer's bar, if they use Soul Reaping. Foul Feast is just plain sexy, now. -Mike 16:01, 5 April 2008 (EDT)
maybe. about the mesmer line - curses > insp. you only need 12 insp to get 3 energy from spirit of failure. better to have 14 curses. Jaguar 22:14, 5 April 2008 (EDT)

  • use parasitic for heals. you can spam it every 5 seconds to get 120 health every 5 seconds... (it is a requirement if playing (or testing) this build in R.A., that you are ABLE to not die for at least seconds after you make initial contact with the enemy in and to get your system going to fuel your energy regeneration via spirit of failure. If you can do this, then you are able to stay alive and continue to pressure the enemy with Spiteful Spirit and Price of Failure, your ONLY two damage spells. Power Drain should be used whenever safe. ether Lord should be used when you run out energy, and can fuel about 2 extra 15 energy spells during the time it takes to recharge.
  • 4 of the 5 skills (not including res signet) have already been nerfed. You used to be able to split the points spent in inspiration magic with illusion magic and use conjure phantasm and another optional slot with adequate energy regeneration coming from the spirit of failure spell from the inspiration line. and yes, it was coming from stupid warriors... and yes, in ra, but also successfully in a pick up HA group (and this was after the nerf), using power drain and ether lord in the optional slots. 05:05, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

Why TA Tag?

I can see this working in unorganized RA, where you can probably keep all melee shut down, but in TA, won't any decent Magebane interrupt everything? Even a bad Magebane can Purge your hex stack afterwards. Marthis Toptier 13:05, 27 April 2008 (EDT)Marthis Toptier

if you can get price/haste on a magebane without them noticing you or when theyre busy on other target or your behind a wall etc you can get on them. other hexes shouldnt be to hard to get on after that. what if they havent got a magbane...about purging...its like that with all hex/condit builds....thats why its a counter. That Twin Tom sigThat Twin Tom 11:43, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
It's TA, they're a Magebane and you're a Necromancer, trust me, they'll never leave you alone. ɟoʇuɐʌʎʞɔıɹPanic srsbsns 11:44, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
You just need to trick them into using interrupts at the wrong times, and overpower them with hexes. It's TA; hopefully you've got some team support as well, eh? Once you get one miss chance on them, then the others go up without much resistance. Taunt them into interrupting everything else if you have to, maybe get them to interrupt SS first, then use the other two/three hexes on them. --GEO-logo Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 02:30, 17 May 2008 (EDT)
