and switch some skills around (antidote signet mainbar, replace hunter's shot and possibly Larceny). I've seen this played with great effectiveness in JQ, RA, and GvG. + | :Tbh, the version that people occasionally play in RA (haven't seen it in GvG more than twice this year) is just the current Magebane Ranger except with BO instead of MTouch. You could try to add it as a variant to the standard Magebane build but I don't think it's even noteworthy enough for that. It's usually run for bravery/lulz. Very strong shutdown if you're not planning to split with the ranger. Expertise reduces the blackout's energy cost, too. ¬ Master Gladius 14:42, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
- Kinda random. Old school cripshots looked kinda like this, but they had Troll. And Arcane Larceny=WTF. ~~ Frvwfr2 talk contribs admin 15:12, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
- Random, and kind of useless. You have to go into touch range of a caster to use Blackout, but it actually shuts you down longer. Plus, you have no protection, say to remove conditions or blocking stances that allow the ranger to survive. Without it, you rely your healing from someone else, but could easily be pulled out of their range because of Blackout. Dont even get me started with Arcane Larceny, its basically useless for this build...--Manbeast15 15:20, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
- Getting in touch-range in HA doesn't really cost any effort. ɟoʇuɐʌʎʞɔıɹ 15:52, 1 June 2008 (EDT)

- You Larceny their Shadow Prison and use it against them. — Rapta (talk|contribs) 16:03, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
So, what's so good about lancery? It's a pretty random skill. —ǘŋƐxɩsƫ 16:46, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
- Its versatility. — Skakid 17:53, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
- I'm pretty sure that every mesmer build using larceny and theivery was laughed into trash, stop being double standard fags. moush 21:21, 2 June 2008 (EDT)
Attributes
Are faggy. How about 11+1+2 9+1 9+1 6? It's a ranger anyway; you won't be spiked alot. —ǘŋƐxɩsƫ 10:14, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
Cripshot Version
I prefer it :/. Magebane is generally less versatile, as it acts only as a hard-interrupt. In addition, larceny has two strong points:
- Acts as random shutdown, making it quite versatile in some situations. At stand, it is more powerful that an interrupt (speaking that it is guarenteed; a similar relationship to shock v. BS)
- Gives a huge advantage on a split, speaking mending touch will be assuredly stolen from the other ranger. Thus, giving cripshot a slight edge against mbane, particularly in the R/Me variant.
Also, in other news, blackout is meh in comparison to troll in the current metagame. I truly despise IE. --Readem 21:01, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- Either work. AND IF THE OTHER RANGER HAS LARCENY YOU END UP IN AN ENDLESS CHAIN OF LARCENY STEALING LOLOL — Skakid 21:04, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- I run cripshot version in gvg. blackout is fun.-WaffleZ LOL- talk 09:23, 4 June 2008 (EDT)
I call it, the guild lord punisher. back to rl now. --Readem 21:18, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- Wtf? — Rapta (talk|contribs) 00:40, 4 June 2008 (EDT)
- Why the fuck would you bring Cry on a ranger? That's among the stupider shit I've seen (grasping earth cripslashes, hammer warriors with shock) — Skakid 04:22, 14 June 2008 (EDT)
tbh
I see this used all the time in TA. Without Arcane tho. ---Chaos- 20:20, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
