Looks quite good. Could be useful in the dungeons with huge mobs and one single boss at the end. Sort of a 2-in-1 build. I fixed some linking and spelling errors too. Seb2net 11:36, 1 November 2007 (CET)

Expertise -= 1, channeling += at least 1. This allows for 4 splinter triggers, and 4 attacks from volley = good. --- Monk-icon-Ressmonkey Ressmonkey (talk) 12:42, 2 November 2007 (CET)

Under the variants it has the icon for Distracting Shot but the words say Disrupting Shot.Stryk the Lightning 13:30, 2 November 2007 (CET)

Change it then :) - Ershins Sig Ershin (Talk) 13:52, 2 November 2007 (CET)
Done. — Azaya 14:16, 2 November 2007 (CET)

Cool idea. I like. I would work nightmare weapon in there though, you already have the attributes for it, and the armor-ignoring damage is quite a boost. Combine with triple shot to cause spike damage (double if not in pve), possibly instead of throw dirt. Alaris 15:46, 2 November 2007 (CET)

Yes, maybe something like this?

<pvxbig> [build prof=Ran/Rit channeling=10 expertise=11+2+1 marksmanship=10+2][Whirling Defense][broad head arrow][splinter weapon][Volley][distracting shot][nightmare weapon][triple shot][flesh of my flesh][/build] </pvxbig> Illusionary WeaponryTiminator 17:19, 2 November 2007 (CET)

It ain't that mutch additional damage... Sometimes even less damage, so not that mutch difference.- Weapon of FuryUnexist 18:04, 2 November 2007 (CET)
I run this in HM and prefer having extra utility. Throw dirt can disable a full Oni spawn and much much more in HM if you have Epidemic, and saves you the need for any other source of blind. Overall it really depends on the rest of the team but additional flexibility and blind>some life steal once in a while IMO. Enigma 18:46, 2 November 2007 (CET)
It's more than "a bit" of life steal; in fact it's a rather large chunk. But the thing is, utility wins out over damage every time. -- Armond WarbladeArmond sig image{{sysop}} 22:24, 2 November 2007 (CET)
Get a rit to take splinter. — Rapta Rapta Icon1 (talk|contribs) 22:23, 2 November 2007 (CET)

A build like this is extremely useful in PvE. It combines both the useful Dazed from BHA and splinter barrage. In PvE, there aren't usually more than 3 or 4 people mobbing up, so this build works well.

Opinion poll

Rit should carry splinter:

  1. Heals, offering of spirit, splinter + warmongers + ancestors' rage. Win, Tycn (talk*pvxcontribs) 05:25, 4 November 2007 (CET)

Ranger should carry splinter:

  1. Channeling rits are dead in PvE Edwina Elbert*talk*contributions Edsig 10:55, 3 November 2007 (CET)
  2. (your vote here)

Quick and small poll to see where people stand on splinter weapon. — Rapta Rapta Icon1 (talk|contribs) 02:23, 3 November 2007 (CET)

Why a hard-and-fast Y/N vote? If there isn't a rit or he's a dick, bring your own splinter. Otherwise, no need. --InternetLOL 02:27, 3 November 2007 (CET)
Because I like everything in this build, except splinter is screwing your attributes entirely? That reason owns imo. — Rapta Rapta Icon1 (talk|contribs) 02:33, 3 November 2007 (CET)
What else are you going to put points in? You've already got a lot in expertise and marks, and no skills from outside those three attributes. -- Armond WarbladeArmond sig image{{sysop}} 05:18, 4 November 2007 (CET)
You could pump marksmanship and expertise, add another attack (triple shot, Dshot), take one of the craploads of PvE skills that buff your team? — Rapta Rapta Icon1 (talk|contribs) 05:23, 4 November 2007 (CET)

Why not simply remove Splinter Weapon and add that, as a variant, if a Ritualist isn't convenient, bring Splinter Weapon in an optional slot. That seems to solve the issue either way. Defiant Elements Sig Test 2 *Defiant Elements* +talk 05:37, 4 November 2007 (CET)

That's so simple that it just might work! — Rapta Rapta Icon1 (talk|contribs) 05:44, 4 November 2007 (CET)
I don't see why it wouldn't... common sense tends to be good. Defiant Elements Sig Test 2 *Defiant Elements* +talk 05:49, 4 November 2007 (CET)
A similar non splinter build I've had in mind for a while now uses BHA+Volley with Epidemic to interrupt multiple casters, maybe something along those lines? Enigma 08:41, 4 November 2007 (CET)

I dont think this build is ready

read the topic ^ i dont think that the bar represents the full potential of this build. i would like to drop it back to trial and fix that bar. any other opinions? Alpha firebornAlpha Fireborn Cripshot 05:35, 4 November 2007 (CET)

Flight Speed

Considering this build causes Dazed I think it would benefit feom having something like Favourable Winds, Called Shot, or Needling Shot in the main bar. UnrealHavocSigUnreal Havoc 07:04, 4 November 2007 (CET)
