No one uses volfen. You run 5 Ursan Tanks and 3 HB monks. If you're going to post the easiest build in the world on pvx, don't scrub it up.--Goldenstar 14:55, 28 January 2008 (EST)

OK, i'll put in in varients at least though. 2 HB monks and a bonder possible? [] 11:31, 29 January 2008 (EST)

I think 5 Ursans + 1 Volfen would work better because of spammable deep wound and volfen shout (i know the volfen doesn't have the bonus armor but still, it's not exactly hard for monks to keep the party alive) . Any ideas?

Renewal->Seed of Life

Maybe a GoR+Seed of Life Monk would work? Easily rechargable Seed of Life? That and maybe Healing Seed as well. A nuker may also help damage output. --GoD Sig3GuildofDeals 19:25, 30 January 2008 (EST) Glyph of Renewal Seed of Life monk is way better than that HB , either change into a SoL monk or make a HB monk--Drownz 17:07, 7 February 2008 (EST)

I really don't get why we need a build for spamming 1... 1... 1... 3... 1... etc. with 3 monks. Rah 19:07, 31 January 2008 (EST)

People in DoA go LoD mimicry, add that instead of BL imo himynameisbobbyjoe 02:19, 1 February 2008 (EST)

Optional Skills

I suggest Pain Inverter (owns eles, like the stygian lord) & a Summon, where the best is Ice Imp (snaring + aoe).

Party Heal

With Heaven's Delight and Divine Healing buffed, they probably should be in there.Jiang 22:54, 6 February 2008 (EST)

Ursan X / D?

I prefer to use Zealous Daggers myself. But then again, I generally don't even need it. Besides, you should be spamming Ursan Strike, wich leaves little to no time to attack. -- 04:29, 7 February 2008 (EST)

The scythe isnt necessary, but it is best for energy and damage because you can hit three at once. Klumpeetsignature 14:44, 10 February 2008 (EST)

Why a derv primary for the ursans?

I'll admit, I never play a dervish, so perhaps they have some advantage I'm not aware of but...seems to me, the ultimately most effective ursan tank would be a warrior with Signet of Stamina. I haven't actually noticed enough downtime between spamming while in Ursan for a scythe to really do much AoE damage at all, but I think that's already been mentioned. -Ruse 20:21, 7 February 2008 (EST)

Just Wondering

Is it possible to use 3 (or 2) monk Hero's when doing this build outside of an Elite Area. Like say you and 4 friends want to go destroy a Hard Mode Area, but need to use 3 hero monks, will that still do the trick (to an odvious lesser extent, of course).Thomas Malakier 23:16, 12 February 2008 (EST)

Yeah, it should work. --71.229 23:20, 12 February 2008 (EST)
Ya with Ursan you don't need anything at all. You don't need any skill or any knowledge of your enemies and thier strengths and weaknessess, you don't need to understand aggro, or worry about over aggro, you don't need any kind of strategy or communication, , you don't have to think, you don't have too know where you are going because "who cares?" you can just kill everything in 10 seconds or less anyways, you don't really even need weapons..... You can just go in an mow down anything you want without even thinking about. You can even do it if you are a monkey just by randomly banging on the necessary buttons.

Ursan the uber bear

D/Me with arcane mimicly and Elite form like Avatar of Melandru. Mimic another ursan, change into avatar, use ursan blessing. You are now Ursan of Melandru. AND when ursan blessing ends, your avatar is recharged (even before 2 min downtime has expired). This is not stable and maybe cost-too-much for the effect (avatar is weak when compared with Ursan), but maybe have some worth to try. (Juddit 07:02, 14 February 2008 (EST))

Use it with Avatar of Dwayna for healing and hex removal or Avatar of Balthazar for its armor boost (over ursan) and his speed 01:49, 23 February 2008 (EST)

Constant knockdown

The article implied that constant knockdown was impossible for an Ursan team to acheive, but this is false. Teams need good coordination and one (or both) of these 2 methods to achieve it: (1) 1 or more Ursans are W/any with stonefist insignia. (2) Mo/Me targets an Ursan with Arcane Mimicry and adds 1 more KD to the cycle. (The result is constant KD of any foe adjacent to all Ursans.)--War Pig5 00:47, 23 February 2008 (EST)

What's this I hear about Ursanway and good coordination? Mike Tycn(punch out) 08:28, 23 February 2008 (EST)

Why would you need an everlasting knockdown? It takes far less effort just to button spam and the kills will not be any quicker anyways.

Monk primary ursan

ugh i am tired of ppl thinkin that just because i am a monk that i have no choice but to heal and it isnt possible for me to ursan. other caster profs have same armor as me and they ursan no problem, though ppl only wonder y i ursan every so often. still its annoying after a whileApu of Kwik E 09:20, 23 February 2008 (EST)

Main reason people don't like monks using ursan is because they want monks to heal (however if you have other monks doing it i guess it's ok), the other thing is that while it's true they have the same armor as other proffesion, they don't have the same benifits from promary atts. (e.g. necros get S.R. mesmsers get FC etc.) and DF does little in the ay of helping you with ursan...PheNaxKian (T/c) Phenaxkian sig phoenix 09:42, 23 February 2008 (EST)
i know necros have soul reaping and eles have more energy but mesmers fast casting has no effect on ursan skills. same with rits. But the problem is ppl have no problem with mesmers and rits doing ursan as far as i have seenApu of Kwik E 20:18, 25 February 2008 (EST)
Other professions don't have a choice of what to be in an Ursan team, but monks play a very important role and are sometimes very hard to find, so when you do find one you expect it to be a healer. Klumpeetsignature Klumpeet.ŧ.¢. 15:25, 30 March 2008 (EDT)

Monk? Class? Do those things still exist? I was under the impression that the only difference between people know was thier Norn Rank.

Just to make this clear for myself: Is it really this easy? Just activate it and call uses of Ursan Rage? Reason I want to know is that I have a paragon in DoA (running the new version of Build:P/W Ursan Blessing Refrain) and I want to know if it's easy or hard. Added as an optional person to add. If you use one of these paragons in an ursan team, it will literally be "god mode". Got through DoA HM without a single person dying, nor did anyone get close to death. Constant +100 armor ftw! Avatar Kuzon 11:48, 26 March 2008 (EDT)

Well, 3 Kurzick Rank is recommended, but it's still possible to keep it up 85% of the time with less than 3. Avatar Kuzon 23:12, 27 March 2008 (EDT)

note - Anthem of Flame is useless on para in ursan team, as ursan attacks dont trigger the 'uses attack skill' requirement.

It's for managing energy and keeping Aggressive up out of battle. Dragnmn talk cont 09:44, 30 March 2008 (EDT)
Take something relatively useful instead, like "Fall Back!". You could just use "There's Nothing to Fear!" to maintain Aggressive Refrain, or you could switch between "TNtF!" and "FB!". This will allow you to get through areas much faster because you won't have to stop to activate Anthem of Flame (which gives 1.75 seconds of downtime if you include aftercast) and party-wide speed boosts are gud. Mending Refrain and Burning Refrain would also be pretty sexy on your Ursans (you could put them both on an Ursan Paragon, and get him to apply them to your whole team).
About your monks, Light of Deliverance kind of sucks now, if compared to Divine Healing and Heaven's Delight, and Patient Spirit now pwns with Healer's Boon. Lastly, a Smiter's Boon+Divine Boon Smiter Monk variant might come in handy. -Mike 18:22, 2 April 2008 (EDT)
LoD is still good, if used with Arcane Mimicry + Healer's Boon. Agreed with Patient though, helps your Dervish Ursans as well. Dragnmn talk cont 13:58, 6 April 2008 (EDT)

The SY's att are wrong 11+1+1 Spear 11+1 Leadership 8+1 Command. Also Fallback is a good variant for AR since most use Consumables you wont need AR. (Mr Pink57 01:50, 26 April 2008 (EDT))

I've done dozens of Ursanways by now, from r5 to r9, just achieved yesterday. A lot of people bring other skills than just the elite, mostly AoE things to compliment killing high-aggro'd stuff that are bunched up. Such as Light of Deldrimor or some other AoE melee.
I've also never seen an ursan team with 3 monks.
Just sayin', is all.- VanguardUser-VanguardAvatar 08:44, 16 April 2008 (EDT)

The ursan bars Completely flexible that's the point of all the optionals, people can take what they want other than ursan. It could also be because of the fact your expected to wait for the recharge between fights if needed instead of running in without ursan on. As for the monks it says 2-3, that emasn you can take 2 or 3, 3 in case your team is crap and takes loads of damage, 2 for if you have a bog standard PuG which can normally cope. The paragon is completly optional, but it's very advantageous to take it because of the partywide buffs (save yourselvs, anthem of flames etc.)PheNaxKian (T/c) Phenaxkian sig phoenix 10:57, 16 April 2008 (EDT)
Never seen a non-ursan using paragon in an ursanway, but I did not comment on that because it's entirely plausable in my eyes.- VanguardUser-VanguardAvatar 11:32, 16 April 2008 (EDT)

Heh, the build's a little flexible, in that you could use 2-3 Monks, and 0-1 Paragons (Imbagons), although I prefer having the Paragon. -Mike 15:33, 13 May 2008 (EDT)
If you look, those builds are examples of what the monks could be. ¬ Klumpeet Enter my contest foo! 15:35, 13 May 2008 (EDT)
About that Imbagon, isn't Anthem of Flame a waste since Ursans don't use attack skills, and only that Paragon does? "Fall Back!" would be one of your best bets. You could probably fit one more PvE skill on his bar, whether it's Spear of Fury or Ebon Battle Standard of Honor. Also, it might be worth mentioning Mending Refrain (on either your Imbagon or your Ursans bars) because maintaining it shouldn't be too hard with Ursan Roar going off every couple seconds. -Mike 15:53, 13 May 2008 (EDT)
Anthem of Flame is ued to keep up AR outside of battle. However, those Ursan shouts could also do that. ɟoʇuɐʌʎʞɔıɹPanic srsbsns 16:19, 13 May 2008 (EDT)
Pugs are not reliable when it comes to chaining Roar properly. -- 16:20, 13 May 2008 (EDT)
And the description of the imbagon just wins... /overreact a lot though :P -- 16:26, 13 May 2008 (EDT)
You can easily maintain Aggressive Refrain with "There's Nothing to Fear!" when AR lasts 24 seconds and "TNtF!" recharges in 20. Plus, Anthem of Flame just slows down your team when you use it out of battle, and "Fall Back!" will actually speed up running. Stacking Ursan Roar with EBSoH would also be a good idea. -Mike 16:39, 13 May 2008 (EDT)
TNTF ends every 30 seconds. 20rech + 10 duration (assuming 12 Leads). No wai you have a 31 sec AR ^^' -- 11:01, 14 May 2008 (EDT)
It lasts while it recharges, so it ends every 20-21, and that's doable. Dragnmn talk cont 12:31, 14 May 2008 (EDT)
All you need to do is spam the key for TNTF during the last 3 or so seconds of its recharge so you immediately cast it afterwards, which ends up keeping AR with 1 second before it renews. Also, the SY spam is more than enough to keep up your energy, and the slot can be better put to use in my opinion by another spear skill. By the way, Anthem of Flame is no where placed in the Imbagon build placed here, yet the usage still has the note about keeping AR up with Anthem of Flame. Remove much?
