Revision as of 10:12, 30 July 2008

Discuss here and mostly about the monks because i am pretty phailing at monk builds --Fox007 09:19, 6 March 2008 (EST)

Yeah, Monks hurt bad. LoD nerf makes it unusable and Leader's Zeal is generally bad for E-management on Monks. I'd put these:

Ethereal Light Dwayna's Kiss Shield of Absorption Dismiss Condition Glyph of Lesser Energy Heal Party Healer's Boon Rebirth

and

Blessed Light Reversal of Fortune Guardian Shield of Absorption Divine Healing Power Drain Leech Signet Rebirth

IMO. --GoD Sig3GuildofDeals 11:17, 8 March 2008 (EST)

Much better. IDK about the Spirit guy though. Frozen Soil is hardly needed in PvE. --GoD Sig3GuildofDeals 11:24, 8 March 2008 (EST)
gonna make it optional for those areas with rezzes so it just goes a bit faster then doing them without Frozen Soil --Fox007 11:32, 8 March 2008 (EST)
Alright. Then I'd kick Rupture Soul. I'd also bring something like D-Shot just for the occasional interrupt. --GoD Sig3GuildofDeals 11:33, 8 March 2008 (EST)
Viola :) BTW do you want to complete the monk builds (attributes and equipment) and do you want to do the usage part for the monks. --Fox007 11:46, 8 March 2008 (EST)

Well

Beats general ursanway on all fronts O.o better energy, less dmg taken, more dmg given etc etc --Fox007 User:Fox007 12:21, 22 March 2008 (EDT)

More damage? Anyway, just merge them or something, ursanway just isn't something that requires more than one build page. --click moar Mafaraxas 12:46, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
His thought was on QZ, wrong? Old build should be deleted as this one is superior. Didi 12:56, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
Agreed on the merging. Not to mention this has been posted before under the name "ursan eskimo's" or something similar, which later ppl bashed on cause apparently saying that word makes you a racist. Just like saying negros are black. Next topic, is polar bear racist too :O ? cause they're white! - Sarah 13:02, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
More dmg because of QZ yes. Polar + racist = WTF your joking right O.o And finally this build has lots more diffrence with normal ursan to be considerd a variant. --Fox007 User:Fox007 13:06, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
Just delete one of them and be done with it. I'm tired of people submitting ursan thinking it needs a specific team build at all. (granted, yes, this is pretty much the best way to do it) --click moar Mafaraxas 13:29, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
But probebly you will know that neither I nor the author of the General ursanway will delete his build. And even i love ursan so much i want it nerfed ASAP i just want to play a balanced group again for DoA has much more needed tactics O.o --Fox007 User:Fox007 13:41, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
that's what the admins are for. the average user can't delete any pages, anyways. Don't count on anet nerfing Ursan, though, since they probably would've done it by now if they intended to. It's marketing, imo; letting people fill up their HoM via Ursan is a fairly effective way to commit people to GW2. --click moar Mafaraxas 14:55, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
But neither he nor me wants it getting deleted. --Fox007 User:Fox007 14:14, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
Whether or not any author wants something deleted or not is irrelevant. Once it's in the public space it belongs to the community, and the author doesn't have any specific control over it. See PvX:OWN. --click moar Mafaraxas 14:55, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
@ Fox007, yes I am joking, it's called sarcasm :P Just to show how silly ppl were acting last time when this got submitted. Anyway, the "general ursan way" page is so overly obvious it's stupid to keep it rather than this one imo, as it's far more effective. The other one just says you need to take ursan blessing, well duh. - Sarah 17:33, 22 March 2008 (EDT)

5-5-5 Disclaimer

WARNING!: This build has recieved a rating of 5-5-5, which qualifies it for the "Uber" category. Unless affected by nerf or skill change, DO NOT, under any circumstances, vote this build below a 5-5-5.

It has clearly been effective, so it deserves a 5 in effectiveness, as does any good build.

It has been very versatile, being able to do what it is meant to do against common meta game builds, thus earning a 5.

It has been innovative, as innovation means that this can/will be meta, and deserves a 5 for it.

If you have any objections on why this shouldn't be a 5-5-5, then either go onto the Talk page of the build and explain why or keep your noobish comment to yourself and don't vote against the build. Simply vote 5-5-5.

If you accept this disclaimer (which you must), imaginarily sign here:

    general

It works and is UBER PWNAGE --Fox007 User:Fox007 17:48, 22 March 2008 (EDT)

should be changed.its impossible to run on anything but a hero.--Rebirth Infidel aesthetic
He said just use glyph of lesser energy on a human, so do so and e-management is fine. On a hero it can't use GoLE well but can interrupt everything. On a person they can't interrupt, but you can use GoLE for energy management. Justing6 23:44, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
My interrupting skillz are teh shit. Buuut, I rather see a hybrid WoH or something instead. I don't like when monks need to get closer to the foes so they can go interrupt etc. - Sarah 08:28, 23 March 2008 (EDT)

Gates person

I prefer 35% damage reduction, 180 armor, and splinter rape. — Skakid 10:31, 23 March 2008 (EDT)

Frozen soil variant

When using Frozen soil, I always replace one of the monks with a heal rit who uses Lively Was Naomei. It works quite well, especially since if the ursans are killed they are usually right beside each other. I have used this strategy with great success in slaver's exile. -Jaxgreystar 207.250.217.158 14:33, 24 March 2008 (EDT)

Can you put on the rit build u used? --Fox007 User:Fox007 16:47, 24 March 2008 (EDT)
I'm not too proficient with posting builds, but the code is: OACjEyiDJPEzq34UaasjmTOjJA Gaze of Fury is obviously only in there to take out the random spirits that spawn there. I have been using this in Slavers' Exile with little to no problems in HM. -Jaxgreystar 207.250.217.158 09:44, 27 March 2008 (EDT)
Added and thanks for giving it :) --Fox007 User:Fox007 13:23, 27 March 2008 (EDT)
Well it is about time I did something to contribute :P I was considering using brambles on the ranger as ursan rage should be doing plenty of kd's. Might put enough pressure on the ungodly healers found in some of the high end areas to speed up killing a bit. Thoughts? Jaxgreystar 15:07, 27 March 2008 (EDT)
I think that the damage dealt by the ursans is high enough to forget the +5dmg and bleeding given by Brambles. But those things may always turn out different--Fox007 User:Fox007 15:29, 27 March 2008 (EDT)

Rit/Ranger?

Greater Conflagration Winter Quickening Zephyr Earthbind Summon Spirits (Kurzick) Serpent's Quickness Boon of Creation Flesh of My Flesh

10+1+1 Spawning 10+2 Communing 12 Wilderness

Earthbind's Health = 281 = 8x 3sec KD

I'm not quite sure if it's useful Konakona 03:46, 29 March 2008 (EDT)

Makes the build pretty energy heavy and a ranger can reduce the cost and therefore more usefull. But ill see if this might be usefull. --Fox007 User:Fox007 10:45, 29 March 2008 (EDT)

Suggestion

You already gain 3 energy any time you takhe damage from Mantra of Frost and Ursan Blessing, but... what if you brought zealous daggers along? it would be like unlimited energy! Plus, Ursan Roar= 10 wxtra dmg on hit.--FireFire Tock SigPic 2Tock 13:51, 30 March 2008 (EDT)

So what i'm trying to say is, Zealous Daggers would be the best weapon of choice for the Ursans.--FireFire Tock SigPic 2Tock 13:52, 30 March 2008 (EDT)
Because of the Any/Me requirement daggers are useless unleas your a assassin (other profs got near no chance on dual strike) and axes / swords attack as fast as daggers do (withour dual strikes) --Fox007 User:Fox007 14:12, 30 March 2008 (EDT)
And Swords + Axes wielders are able to carry a off-hand which gives +12 energy atleast if it is in Inspiration magic --Fox007 User:Fox007 14:17, 30 March 2008 (EDT)

Offhand not found.

I suggest you place a comment as to where the offhand with those specs can be found. I have searched Guild Wiki weaponsmith/collector pages for such a beast without success. I see a +12 energy offhand with and empty inscription slot. No fortitude attribute. I see +12 energy with 30HP but no inscription slot. Where did you get this wonder to test the build?

Your recommendation: A req9 Inspiration magic offhand of fortitude with -1/+15 inscription

Peace & Much Thanks.. Lynlee 17:37, 2 April 2008 (EDT)

the easiets way to find such weapons is going to BMP do one of the missions and get the reward such as Mursaat Focus --Fox007 User:Fox007 05:44, 3 April 2008 (EDT)
If you don't have the Bonus Missions, then you just need a focus with +12 energy and an inscription slot. Then get yourself the right inscription and focus core. - PANIC! Panic sig3 pewpewpew! 05:49, 3 April 2008 (EDT)

AHA!!! Inspiration Offhand.. found  ::blush::

Kraviec the Cursed, Location: Vulture Drifts by a teleporter northeast of Dunes of Despair, Collecting: 5 Iridescent Griffon Wings

Perhaps adding comments would make it easier on others to locate the weapons. I built a sword.. Also is there a Forum somewhere to discuss USING the build and to discuss equipment for which class? For example, I made a baby necro. Can I use a sword or Axe while in Ursan form and do good damage, or must it be a wand? With Max(16) in Soul Reaping and 12 in Inspiration, not much left for anything else.. Im kinda confused about the mechanics! A pointer to a forum for discussion would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for sidestepping the actual build discussion.. I dont know where else to turn.

Peace.. Lynlee 12:04, 4 April 2008 (EDT)

The attributes are linked to the weapon and for ursan it is linked to the rank you have in the norn title track. Example: A N/Me using a sword with Rank 10 Norn will do good damage whit the ursan skills but not with the sword because the attrbute linked to the sword is 0. and the damage done by a weapon is being calculated by the requirement of it. Example: You have a sword with requirment 9 but you only have a attribute level of 8 the damage done by a sword will be almost 0 but if you improve it to lvl 9 it will do signeficent more damage. Hopes this helps out a bit :) --Fox007 User:Fox007 12:26, 4 April 2008 (EDT)
