This build has been designed for the following use:

This is a general purpose DWG build that provides a strong burst of AoE damage and can still do good sustained AoE damage in a prolonged fight.

Equipment

  • Armor should be balanced between health and energy. Energy is important because you won't have your weapon energy while holding the ashes but health is also important to reduce the odds of getting aggro.
  • For weapons, have a high hp defensive set and a high energy set, you don't even need an offensive set because you'll be holding ashes when you cast spirit rift.


Usage

Maintain great dwarf armor for defense if you brought it.

Cast destruction, bloodsong, and destructive was glaive before the fight and have your teammates try to ball the enemies up.

Cast spirit rift and run in, summon your spirits to you -> DWG -> rupture soul (on destruction, it will be the one not attacking) -> destruction -> spirit siphon -> DWG -> rupture soul (on bloodsong).

Keep going using DWG as often as possible and spirit rift when you have spare time and energy. Drop the ashes manually when it will be enough to end the fight or if you need to switch back to your weapon set for energy/defense. Be careful not to waste spirit rift by using it when the enemies will be dead or have moved before it does it's damage.

By the time rupture soul recharges the second spirit of destruction will have lived long enough (6 seconds) to do it's max damage.

Summon a second bloodsong and siphon it for energy and to provide more fuel for rupture soul.

If you expect the fight to last long you might want to use a spirit siphon on the first spirit of destruction before the first rupture soul so you can manage your energy better.

Remember that spirit siphon can be used on allied spirits which might be a good way to recoup energy at the end of a fight.

Counters

  • General anti-caster.
  • PBAoE abilities making it too dangerous to stay on the frontlines.
  • Poor teamwork leading to not catching the enemies in the AoE and/or getting killed.

Variants

  • [[Splinter Weapon@16] or [[By Ural's Hammer] is nice instead of [[Great Dwarf Armor] if you trust your tank/backline enough to keep you safe.
  • [[Channeling@6] instead of [[Spirit Siphon@16], however note that ancestor's rage and binding rituals are not spells. Use [[great dwarf armor] as a cover enchant for it.
  • A resurrection skill, a different PvE skill, [[Ancestor's Rage@16], or even a shadowstep could also be subbed in.

Notes

Keep in mind the recent February 25th update that made significant changes to Ancestor's Rage, Destruction, Destructive was Galive, and Spirit Rift.
