Dying Nightmare

Don't they pretty much screw you over? –Ichigo724Ichigo-signature 16:38, 17 August 2007 (CEST)

Dying Nightmares are no problem to handle. You can easily use the NPC's to body block when they pop up after pulling the groups of Blades on top of each of the stairs. And you can easily scan the other areas for nightmares without aggroing the Blades. I rarely die from Dying Nightmares. UW takes some experience for any build... and with this build the only difficult part, is dealing with the Graspings and their interrupts/dazed. (ReZDoGG 19:19, 17 August 2007 (CEST))

Mo/Rt Alternative

Well since someone posted somewhat of a Mo/Rt alternative to my build... I figured I would check it out, finally... I tweaked a Mo/Rt version of the build in a few minutes, and turned out alright. It will still farm faster than a SoJ Monk build. Definately not as fast as Rt/Mo 330hp, but still kills enemies in one or two VwK usages. Retribution usually finishes off enemies a few seconds after VwK wears off... usually only one VwK usage.

Here is the link to Guru thread: [Mo/Rt 600hp Vengeful Spirit Bonder (Rt/Mo 330hp Alternative)] (ReZDoGG 02:53, 18 August 2007 (CEST))

New GwEN skills

I will be adding new skills from GwEN as soon as I can. There should be more alternatives to take the build even further... even the new title skills should have some use for the build. (ReZDoGG 20:44, 27 August 2007 (CEST))

If only they make Aura of Stability Target Ally, and not Target Other Ally.... Sshaun007 13:19, 31 August 2007 (CEST)
Yeah, I wish they would...hopefully eventually they will change it to Target Ally. My build will be even better knowing you would beable to farm where there is knockdowns. GwEN definately has alot of knockdowns I noticed... there is a PvE skill called "Dwarven Stability", but I think you have to be drunk to counter Knockdowns. I can imagine that would be kind of annoying... farming while drunk. kinda funny though. (ReZDoGG 08:48, 1 September 2007 (CEST))
Haha, yeah. Get a Dwarven Ale or two, drink, and go farming! .... and.... omg I think I got a skill! It's "I Am Unstoppable!", from the Norn Title Track. It won't last the full 30 seconds, but it should be more than enough to take down the monsters... I think. Might try on Vermin I guess. What do you think RezDogg? Sshaun007 15:39, 3 September 2007 (CEST)
Thing is about GwEN, is there isn't no HM... which is a crappy deal for the build. Not sure if enemies will do enuff damage to trigger Spirit Bond. I hope eventually they will have HM. I'm guessing they didn't take the time to do HM before release... im hoping they are working at it and eventually will add it. I would also like to have HM chest too... waste alot of lockpicks on crap purples, even though u get high retainment percentage. I haven't yet to take my Rit thru the game... it will be the next thing i will be doing. I made up a Boss farming build for a Rit that can take out pretty much every boss in game... but I will test that out eventually, and maybe post the build with some videos of some new bosses to farm.
As for farming with the KD's using "Dwarven Stability"... try it out :) "I am the Strongest" doesn't last as long, but you might beable to kill quick enuff before it runs out. You could use both of them to keep antiknockdowns up, but u gotta be drunk to farm... not quite sure how that will work. Still sux that there is finally a Monk skill to counter knockdowns... that last along time and has quick recharge, but can't use it on self. Hopefully they will change that. (ReZDoGG 02:32, 7 September 2007 (CEST))
Hehe, just saw ya at Gunnar's Hold... Talking about the Norn title track rank 2? Well anyways, as for HM, it will be added to the game later on. The +24 probably isn't enough to reduce damage you take by too much. Sshaun007 06:23, 8 September 2007 (CEST)
Try using Paininverter (Asuran skill) instead of RoD... this kills so fast, even with Asuran r1 only... it's incredible, really good for Marobeh and other bosses. Madhamish 13:29, 12 October 2007 (GMT+1)
I don't think knockdowns are a problem. It seems like item spells aren't dropped after a knock down. I kept on getting knocked down by meteor but the ashes stayed in my hand. Hmmm... Math Person 11:54, 18 January 2008 (EST)

Alleskapot's Vote

I dont really understand his vote. Here's why:

  • "Uneffective"
  • Deals 47 per hit and doesnt kd. When mobs in HM hit extremely fast, it does a lot more than SoJ over time, as SoJ knocks down.
  • "not capable of killing mass groups"
  • Add SoA and its capable of killing mass mobs, although timing is tricky at first. Its not even designed to farm mass groups so your point is invalid anyways.
  • "therefore really slow."
  • See above. Against foes that cant be kd'd or cause massive degen you would be better off with a SoJ monk, but not against what this is designed for.
  • "Prefer other builds..."
  • Mind telling us the ones you prefer?

I really like the rating system here at PvXwiki, but there are some flaws still. Votes like this proves it. The problem is that by getting rid of one flaw we would probably be creating others. --Teh Uber Pwnzer 02:02, 3 September 2007 (CEST)

No comment, heh. I went thru all this before... someone else just said it doesn't work at all. saying there is mesmers everywheres.... not sure where he is farming. But there is so many things to farm with this build, too many to name on top of head. I think the build is jus a bit too much for the newb farmers to handle... even though I showed a few myself, and they picked up on it fairly quick. Once u get used to using Spirit Bond, and dealing with certain enemies.... it eventually gets fairly easy. (ReZDoGG 14:52, 3 September 2007 (CEST))

Is there a Youtube Video?

It would be nice if someone posted a link to a youtube vid. TY

There is :) Look on build and scroll down to "See Also". click on link... (ReZDoGG 22:24, 22 September 2007 (CEST))

You can list the Shiro'ken in Unwaking Waters too... The Rangers and Assassins both got interrupts, but even with that, it's still possible to take them out. I also suggest to take Pain Inverter with you for the Warriors, as they heal frequently if taking damage. Pain Inverter finishes up after they heal — eXtinctioN (Talk/Contributions) 14:46, 22 January 2008 (EST)

Template Code works fine...??

For the person that mentioned the template code didn't work, just highlight the code, and copy and paste it into guildwars... or save the file into your Guildwars directory, and place it in your template code folder. (ReZDoGG 16:37, 2 December 2007 (CET))

Pro Spirit

Why would you have Protective Spirit? If you need Spirit bond to take more than 60 Damage, then It doesn't work. You only take 33 Damage.--FireTocksig2FireTock 16:57, 8 December 2007 (CET)

SB triggers before PS. –Ichigo724Ichigo-signature 17:28, 8 December 2007 (CET)
Without Protective Spirit you would take 100-300 damage a hit in HM... and Spirit Bond will trigger, but it won't out heal the damage. So using Protective Spirit will cover up all that damage besides the 33 (10% of 330) that you take with 330hp... Spirit Bond still triggers, and will heal you for around 80 health, so you will gain 47 health (80-33=47), which means you be healed with every hit taken for the duration of Spirit Bond. So even though you only take 33 damage with Protective Spirit, Spirit Bond still triggers as if you are taking that 100-300 damage, which is more than enough to trigger the skill. Get it? If not just try the build and see :P (ReZDoGG 06:22, 11 December 2007 (CET))

HM

You say that it Can be used to farm just about anything in Hard Mode, including the Underworld. Does that mean it can farm the UW, or it can farm the UW in HM?--FireTocksig2FireTock 16:09, 8 December 2007 (CET)

Also, I found this build can farm the Krakens in Archipelagos in HM too.--FireTocksig2FireTock 05:04, 9 December 2007 (CET)

OK, i just read this build on guru, and it says it can farm UW harrd mode, thnx for all the help guys. *cough, lazy* *cough* cough*--FireTocksig2FireTock 16:27, 9 December 2007 (CET)

All of UW possible on HM?

Just wondered if this works on more than just the standard smite crawlers. If it does, I'll definitely give this a shot. If not, I'll stick with my monk with which I can already do smite crawlers and save myself the gold for skills, lol. Thanks! And nice to see Rits getting some more farming love. That class doesn't get enough credit. Ruse 03:39, 17 December 2007 (CET)

I have a video for HM UW solo... it is not the easiest thing to farm, but it is possible with some previous experience, or alot of practice. check it out here: 330hp Rt/Mo UW HM Solo (ReZDoGG 02:57, 19 December 2007 (CET))

You can farm the Kirin in Pongmei Valley too, though you do need to combine Spirit Bond and VwK together, otherwise you take too much damage from barbs. EDIT: Dragon Moss work too, but try to stay out of their cast range, otherwise you'll have to do same as with the Kirin (and it's harder with them, cuz when in cast range, they cast spells more than they do regular attacks) Undergrowth are pretty much easy — eXtinctioN (Talk/Contributions) 17:01, 2 January 2008 (EST)

You farm the mission. And it may be possible to kill the Star Lights with Pain Inverter Asuran skill, if you are thinking of farming it. Usually you have to just ignore the Star Lights. (ReZDoGG 23:27, 8 January 2008 (EST))

Error under equipment?

I would like to point out an error on this page:

Under 'equipment' this is stated:

Or a Shamanic Restoration Wand with 20% HSR and +15 energy. Paired with a inscribabled Restoration off-hand with 20% HSR and 10% casting of spells. ***This will give you +40% HSR of Restoration spells***

This is incorrect. Applying two 20% chance or 10% chance etc does not double your chances. It gives you two 20% chances for the desired effect. This does not translate into 40% chance. Each instance of 20% is its own and acts separately from others. In other words, these mods are not stackable.

Your chances of said desired effect are better with more than one of these mods, however it is not a 40% chance. That's all I wished to point out.

Well if it gives you two chances of 20%, wouldn't that qualify as 40% chance? I know you won't get 1 out of every 2 HSR on VwK, but it definately helps out your percentage. But I do understand what you are saying, but it does double your chances... so it somewhat works as if it were 40%. And you can definately notice the difference between using two 20% mods, than using only one. Alot of times I get Half Recharge on VwK 3-4 times in a row... and I definately don't get that with a staff that has only one 20% HRS. But I will edit it the page, so people don't get confused, and expect to get 1 out of 2 chance of HSR. (ReZDoGG 03:12, 14 January 2008 (EST))
Next time, please use the "+" symbol to add a topic to the page, instead of editing the whole page itself. Thanks. (ReZDoGG 18:41, 12 January 2008 (EST))
It's not technically a 40% chance of halving the recharge. You have two separate 20% chances. Because of this, when you cast a spell, there are four possible outcomes:
  1. Neither of them activate
  2. The first one activates and the second doesn't, halving the recharge time
  3. The second one activates and the first one doesn't, halving the recharge time
  4. Both of them activate, cutting the recharge time down by 75%.
Because both of them could activate at the same time, it's technically innaccurate to say that you have a 40% chance of halving the skill recharge. It's really more like a 36% chance of halving it, and a 4% chance of quartering it. So you still have a 40% chance of reducing the recharge time. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(sysop) 18:49, 12 January 2008 (EST)
Also, both of you should sign your comments by typing four tildes (~~~~) ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(sysop) 18:51, 12 January 2008 (EST)
Wizardboy hit my point on the nose. I think to be more accurate, it should be reworded to reflect the true potential of the combination, if the combination is going to be pointed out in such a way.
Look at it this way... If you had two Baseballs to throw at the same time at one target, wouldn't that double your chances of hitting it in that one throw? instead of throwing one ball at two seperate times... One could hit and other won't, But Both could hit, or None at all. But it does give you a higher chance percentage of hitting your target in one throw. And if you hit the target, your only hitting one, not two... so the Halve's won't stack to get 75% or 100% of recharge. But all in all, it still doubles your chances of hitting the target by throwing two balls at once. Hehe, only way I can explain it. (ReZDoGG 03:12, 14 January 2008 (EST))
Percentages stack multiplicatively, not addetively. .20 * .20 = .36. A "40/40" set actually gives you a 36% chance to halve both the casting and recharge of any spell affected by both modifiers. -- Armond WarbladeArmond sig image{{sysop}} 04:54, 14 January 2008 (EST)

GREENS!

I have found it is possible to Solo Farm GREENS with this build. This build will solo any boss besides monk or in some cases, ritualist. So far, Ive gotten a Strongroot's Shelter and a Lian's Lantern from this build. Ill post other greens I get and where to get them ALL OF THESE BOSSES WERE FARMED IN HM

  • Strongroot's Shelter- Warrior Boss outside of Unwaking Waters (Kurz)
  • Lian's Lantern- Elementalist boss found in Wajuun Bazaar
  • Kaolin Wand- Ritualist Boss outside of Unwaking Waters (Kurz) (Can only farm the boss, not his mob. His mob carries enchantment removals that even spellbreaker cant block (Order of Apotasy)
  • Talhyun's Pincers- Assassin boss outside Ran Musu Gardens in Shing Jea Island. dont worry about the mob, just cast prot spirit and Spirit bond before entering his mob, and let him shadowstep to you.
  • Geoffer's Bulwark- Warrior boss outside Zos Shrivos (Luxon). Dont attempt to farm him right away. There will be a group of naga that will come and try and kill geoffer's mob. Nicely, the afflicted (geoffer's group) and the naga will all be dead, only leaving the boss. then just run up and farm him. his mob caries different enchantment removals so its not possible to takeout the mob
  • Sskai's Blade- This boss is tricky, and the only way to kill him with solo is to bring scourge healing. He ha healing signet and continues to heal himself after takign damage. if he did not have that skill, farming him and his mob would be easy, for his mob is only rangers and warriors. Watch out for oni spawns tho.
  • Morrob's Axe- In normal mode, I broght my ranger to his spot and to farm him and i got really pissed. I went through noob island wit my rit, and broguht him to the boss location and it couldnt be easier. They are all warriors, some eles with snares, but thats not too much of a problem. the main problem is a few mobs snaring you before you get to his spot. Ive been waiting to famr this boss so long because his green has the same skin as an icy blade axe. req 5 lol.

Inv.PacifismCrossfirexiv(contribs) 10:51, 21 January 2008 (EST)

That's cool. Should probably move this to the places to farm section.

Try farming Lissah the Packleader in Gursteigh's Cave (Bjora Marches). It's pretty much easy too, but watch out for interrupts. And btw, Tahkayun's Pincers are pretty much worthless, since they're non max. — eXtinctioN (Talk/Contributions) 12:52, 17 January 2008 (EST)

Here's my current list of farmed bosses:

  • Lissah the Packleader |Warrior| --Bjora Marches-- [Easy]
  • Johon the Oxflinger |Ranger| --Ice Cliff Chasm-- [Normal-Hard] (best take Pain Inverter here, and use it all the time against him)
  • Flint Touchstone |Elementalist| --Old Ascalon-- [Easy-Normal] (can be killed, but Pain Inverter is suggested, otherwise it might take long)
  • Tahkayun Tsi |Assassin| --Kinya Province-- [Very Easy]
  • Cobble Poundstone |Warrior| --Old Ascalon-- [Easy] (here you need Pain Inverter, otherwise he heals too much)
  • Hassin Softskin |Paragon| Plains of Jarin-- [Easy] (start from SS Great Hall, try to avoid Ibogas at all costs. Sometimes you will aggro a nearby Iboga, but that's not that bad)
  • Keshel the Voracious |Monk| --Cliffs of Dohjok-- [Very Easy] (pretty much easy, since his RoD doesn't reverses indirect dmg like an other RoD, Retribution or PI, and of course, no life stealing :P. This boss can be pretty much an easy Elite Monk Tome boss to farm, since he's very close to Blacktide Den)
  • Bubahl Icehands |Dervish| --Marga Coast-- [Normal] (watch out for the Ridgebacks, as their interrupts sometimes can be devastating. Also take caution with the Blighters)
  • Lunto Sharpfoot |Assassin| --Marga Coast-- [Normal] (If you aggro both the monk insects (there's a second one a bit further to his mob), you can already forgot about killing him. If you don't, you can kill him, but Pain Inverter is suggested)
  • Chor the Bladed |Warrior| --Marga Coast-- [Easy] (easy, I suggest that you leave from Nundu Bay instead of from Dajkah, as from Nundu you can avoid all mobs, and eventually kill Lunto too)
  • Admiral Chiggen |Ranger| --Marga Coast-- [Very Very Hard] (DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT TRY TO FARM HIM unless you got godly timing at refreshing SB. It already took me about 10 mins to farm him alone, let alone his mob. If you want to try anyway, here's one tip: Use SB together with VwK, otherwise you're dead meat. Also, first watch his mob for Corsair Torturers, cuz if they're in, you can't farm him in any way, since they strip enchants)
  • Suneh Stormbringer |Elementalist| --Plains of Jarin-- [Normal] (swap VW for Pain Inverter and RoD for "I Am Unstoppable". You'll need to combine SB and VwK together here, otherwise his mobs spells outdamage you)
  • Tarom Rockbreaker |Warrior| --Plains of Jarin-- [Normal-Hard] (Watch out for the Imps, as their life stealing can be very dangerous if below 30% HP. Use SB together with VwK if needed)
  • Riktund the Vicious|Warrior| --The Mirror of Lyss-- [Easy-Normal] (Bring Pain Inveter, take out the other Cobalt until there are only 3 left, the boss included, then start using PI on Riktund)
  • Shezel Slowreaper |Dervish| --The Mirror of Lyss-- [Hard-Very Hard] (If there are Storm Jacarandas in his mob, give it up already. If not, than you can deal with him, but not with the rest of his mob, cuz the Jacaranda will most likely be replaced by a Whistling Thornbush, and they heal like hell in Vabbi)
  • Robah Hardback |Warrior| --The Floodplain of Mahnkelon-- [Normal] (Boss is easy, getting to him through the interrupting and healing heket mobs is an other story. He spawns close to Buhon, try not to aggro both mobs)
  • Jerneh Nightbringer |Necromancer| --The Floodplain of Mahnekelon-- [Normal-Hard] (Beware of the heket mobs near his spawnpoint)
  • Dzabel Land Guardian |Ranger| --The Floodplain of Mahnkelon-- [Hard-Very Hard] (Kill all the surrounding heket, until he and, most likely, a Blue Tongue Heket remain. Then start pulling them backwards, past the resurrection shrine. The Blue Tongue will soon break aggro, but Dzabel will remain. This is a hard part, since your energy management will be hard. Also, if he goes past 10-15% health, he'll break aggro and the Blue Tongue will come back to heal him, so make sure to spike him down with PI before he breaks away.)
  • Buhon Icelord |Elementalist| --The Floodplain of Mahnkelon-- [Normal] (He spawns close to Robah, try not to aggro both mobs)
  • Brokk Ripsnort |Necromancer| --Wilderness of Bahdza-- [Easy-Normal] (The Heket here are lvl 30, and the Blue Tongues seem to have VERY crappy heals here. You can take out his whole party)
  • Eshekibeh Longneck |Necromancer| --Wilderness of Bahdza-- [Easy-Normal] (PI him, the rest goes on its on. Use SB with VwK to counter heavy degen)

That's already 9 professions that can be farmed for greens/Elite Tomes ^^ Cheers :)— eXtinctioN (Talk/Contributions) 06:27, 23 January 2008 (EST)

You guys going to motivate me to name all the bosses that can be farmed. Keep listing as many as you can, and ill add them to the list on here, and on guru. I have been thinking of doing so, but I haven't tested every boss... usually just ones that are in the farming areas mentioned. I will put each boss under the area that where they can be found... maybe that will motivate people to try out different areas. (ReZDoGG 08:45, 23 January 2008 (EST))

YAY to think I was the first to realize it can farm Elite Tomes that way too. I feel even more special :P — eXtinctioN (Talk/Contributions) 15:16, 24 January 2008 (EST)
Well I knew it can kill bosses, as I been killing bosses since I made the build. I do know the capabilities of my own build :) hehe. But I didn't use it specifically for farming Elite Tomes and Greens, since I would probably use a Spirit build for that. But since Pain Inverter was available to use, It definately made farming bosses alot more possible. Also, You really don't need to make a big discription for each boss, just name them and people will figure it out. You could just put a difficulty rating next to it (Easy-Hard). I won't beable to put too much more text on my Guru thread as it has a limit, which I already reached about a month ago, and had to size it down a bit... so hopefully I will have enough room to add names of bosses. So just name bosses and difficulty, and the area they are found in. Thnx (ReZDoGG 09:58, 25 January 2008 (EST))
NP, but I will keep telling what things you need to watch for, since some ppl have the tendecy to give up trying if it doesn't works out for them. If you would rate it at Hard, make sure to give at least 1 or 2 tips, so ppl won't be coming with things like:"wtff?? this ain't working!!" — eXtinctioN (Talk/Contributions) 10:29, 25 January 2008 (EST)
