The Admin noticeboard

There are a number of issues that can only be solved by an Administrator. The Admin noticeboard is one of the means through which users can contact Administrators in order to identify a problem that needs Administrative attention. Although editors are welcome to directly contact particular Administrators, posting on this page instead may be an easier way to let the entire Administrative group know of the issue (which may be particularly helpful since it increases the odds that at least one Administrator will see, and thus be able to respond to, the issue promptly).

There are only a limited number of things for which this page should be used. Many problems can be solved without Administrative intervention, and, thus, this page should be restricted to those issues that actually require an Administrator. Those are: blocking vandals, (un)deleting pages, (un)protecting pages, removing votes (either as per Real Vetting or because the build has been substantially edited), and mediation (only if the situation demands it).

Even in cases of vandalism, posting on this page needn't be the first step (and indeed should not be the first step). If you see vandalism, just go ahead and revert it, anyone has the power to do so. If it's a new article with no safe version to revert back to, tag it for deletion. In both cases you should leave a message in the talk page of that user to make him/her aware of why that kind of edit is unacceptable on PvXwiki. Only post here if that user persists in his/her actions, ignoring the warnings or if the content requires immediate Administrative attention (eg. if the material on the page is so offensive that should be immediately deleted).

(Be careful in case that user repeatedly insists on vandalizing, avoid a revert war; it's far better to temporarily leave the vandalized version of the page up until an admin has a chance to intervene.)

To create a new request: add an item to the bottom of the list below, providing a brief, neutral summary of the issue. As a sign of courtesy, also leave a message on the talk page of any other involved users so they are aware of this discussion. If you are alerting an admin of a vandal, use the {{IP}} template, with the first parameter being the vandal's IP or username. If you are requesting that vote(s) be removed, please use the {{Build}} template, with the first parameter being the build's name.

Note that this is not a talk page and that the respective moderators of each section reserve the right to remove non-administrative comments without discussion.

Im not sure if this is the right spot to say this but, It says on the bottom of the tag, Do not remove this tag until the build has been vetted by the community, doesn't that mean that it needs to be voted upon? I was deleting edits that were from people who were improperly editing the build and making a mess. Usually, you call that vandalism and I was well within my rights as a wiki user to revert vandalism. If you can't preserve the quality of a page while editing it, don't edit it. If you have a problem with the origional author or current main contributer of a build on what the build should contain, then discuss it in the build's talk page instead of screwing around with the build and making it look like it was done by a 12-year-old with alzheimer's. • Explained on the Discussion page why Lyssa Degenerator is inferior (constantly ripped Lyssa in TA is less energy gain (less alone energy steal) than Energy Drain and Lyssa can't be covered with another enchant as it is contantly reapplied.
• Some people only rate the pressure when the focus is energy denial
• Power Drain compensates for the Energy difference between Energy Drain and an unripped Lyssa enchant if the objective is pressure
• People disregarded optional slots.
• Weapon sewapping doesn't always work (conflicting priorities forces wrong weapon choice when faced with melee pressure)
• Energy denial doesn't have its only use on healers. It makes any other player useless
• I don't think that a build that makes me decisive in many matches can receive a rating below 3

Rating Page Lock

Forum links

Could possibly get some coding to link to the forums for specific builds? For example, if in the article, there is some code such as "forums=(URL)" then it would add a link to the top. Display issues with Safari Browser

Well, I recently downloaded the new Safari browser and i like it a lot. However, there seems to be some kind of display issue with PvX. The navigation bar that is supposed to appear on the left hand side of each article is just a blank white area and the links from that are pushed down to the very bottom of the page below the white area. Could be something to do with my computer, but can someone else using safari confirm? Thanks Peter 02:58, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

Yea, the sidebar links are getting pushed down below the article body on every page. I'll look into it and see if I can change the css or something to fix it if I have time. Hhhippo might know how to fix it. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(sysop) 17:44, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

Nothing I've tried fixes it. It's entirely possible it's a safari bug. But if anyone else who knows some css wants to try to figure it out, here's a summary of what I tried:

1. Reducing the width of the article body and/or sidebar just leaves a bigger gap between them.
2. Changing the white-space:nowrap in the h4, h5, and h6's for .portlet to white-space:normal removes the big section of whitespace, and the sidebar looks normal... except that it's still shoved down below the article.
3. Changing the border, padding, and margin for .portlet and #pBody did nothing.

I tried more than this, but I don't remember it all. Also, guildwiki, GWW, and wikipedia all look normal in Safari. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(sysop) 18:26, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

Display Issues with Chrome

This is exactly the same problem I have with my Safari Browser, it seems to push everything down to the bottom of the articles for some reason, most likely because the advert does not fit in the navigation bar. Keep in mind, Chrome is still beta. You'd have to wait until it was production-state for anyone to bother submitting an aesthetic fix. However, it sounds like a browser rendering issue in the way that IE renders things differently than Firefox. It might get fixed by Google, but there's a solid chance you'll have to edit your personal Monobook file. Vote Wipe Button

currently, policy suggest we should vote wipe archives, I believe Dont wants to remove that line(looking at the EB talk page). Vote removals

Both me and Rawr have noticed that sometimes a vote that's shown as removed in recent ratings doesn't appear on the removed list at the bottom of the ratings page, making it impossible to check the validity of a removal/restore the vote. Tab 14:51, 19 January 2009 (EST)

Nope, it doesnt work. If you vote on something, it appears in recent ratings, but if you delete your vote, the fact that you ever voted on the build is deleted. Another example is if your vote gets rollbacked, it shows up in the "my ratings" page, but if you delete your vote, the fact that it was rollbacked is gone too. Ads glitch

Archived

Would it be possible to change the archived tag into something more along the lines of the WELL tag? As of right now it's a little awkward to use(and by that I mean all the blank= stuff). it's possiable, but it would require you to do the template in a specific order (e.g. {{archived|Outdated|Great|~~~~~}}, and that order only). It would also make for multiple reasoning difficult (or messy rather), plus it would require us to go through all the archived builds updating the tempalte, as it stands i see no real gain from changing it. Recent Ratings and My Ratings

All ratings are dated December 31, 1969 on these pages. Going to the ratings page of a build shows correct dates though. Toraen talk 14:06, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

To add to that: I think I never saw the ratings page on this PC before. It showed up normal the first time, but now everything is 22:00 December 31, 1969. (timezone GMT+1 and summertime). FC on signets

This barely even matters at all (if at all) but:

If signets scale linearly and spells scale exponentially it is mathematically sound. With linear scaling you can get under 0, with exponential you cannot. It is expected behavior. Dragnmn talk cont 14:29, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
