Derv (newb friendly & for H/H) - Least versatile with the lowest investment in blood magic, but it has the best survivability since it has 90 AL + defensive enchants. You can keep this orders hero with the rest of the party without worrying about it dying.
Necro (for human parties) - Most versatile with the highest investment in blood magic (and curses); however, a necro hero has low AL and requires heals from the party, making it more fragile than a Derv (or ele). And, unless you use Cultist's, it also has the worst energy management of the three (soul reaping isn't bad, but you can't count on shit to die quickly in the hardest of areas). If you're using a human team, though, neither of it's downsides are noticable. Shit dies faster with human players, which fuels the necro's energy, and human backlines won't have as many problems keeping the nec alive.
Ele (H/H or 2 players) - The middle-of-the-road approach. It's more versatile than the derv, since it can invest in curses and has more free slots, but it doesn't have a choice in secondary. ER helps to keep it alive and allows for spam, but the heal comes before the health sac, meaning heroes and henchies will feel the need to heal your orders.
Derv - Neither versatile nor fragile.
Necro - Both versatile & fragile.
Ele - Somewhat versatile & somewhat fragile.
Versatility is the key to victory at JQ.
The Dominant Force on the Battlefield: <pvxbig>
Cap shrines, support carriers with breeze, kill enemy carriers, shutdown nukers, don't let players near shrines. Sure, it's not the best nuker, but any nuker is useless if a shrine is supported by a monk. You become a shameless burden on your team if you can only do one thing, and that one thing is countered by the other team (monk stops nuker, monk becomes useless due to lack of shrines, etc...). Jacks of all trades are ideal for JQ.
The Next Best Thing:
Usually Heal Area for better shrine defense. Not as versatile as the ranger, but it nukes shrines faster, and is better for supporting carriers, shrines, and players.
How Dok & Fray win PvE
- Because the best defense is a good offense...along with a good defense.
- 1 & 2. Waiting for Fox Fangs to recharge is no fun.
- 4. PI is superior to Panic on heroes...No, really, it is.
- 5. Fray thinks interrupts on the smiter are great, and I'll never be able to convince him otherwise. :/
- We might use scythes from time to time.
