The Problem

To many times have I gone to a userpage and seen an argument going on. Sometimes, arguments are good, such as the ones that go on in the build talk, which, usually, help make the build better. These arguments in the userpages though, are not good. Most often, they are personal attacks made about comments that weren't personal. Those comments are disrespectful, rude, and unneeded. But that isn't the worst part. The worst part are the replies made to those disrespectful, rude, and unneeded comments. Most of the time, they are telling the person that the comment they left was inappropriate, but then go on and do the same thing. This wiki is never going to succeed when we have admins that post a reply in an inappropriate manner. I understand that some action is needed against these personal attacks, but they need to maintain the respect that should have been given to them in the first place. The admins should be people whose actions and words are a example to how all the users should act. So far, from what I have seen, some of these "leaders" are not living up to this.

The Solution

The Admins

When you go to hit the save changes button after you are ready to post your comment, reread the comment you are about to post. I know everyone has a sense of what is appropriate and what is not (sometimes people just don't follow that, for whatever reason). Make sure you are telling them what is, without any bias against that person for what he/she wrote before. Everyone has a right to their opinion, just sometimes the leaders need to put that aside for the good of the site as a whole. Be the example that you would like everyone to follow. Make sure the users know what exactly is going on. Since when you take some of their knowledge of happenings away, they may jump to conclusions that do not reflect what is really going on.

The Users

Just because an admin disagrees with you, doesn't mean that it's the end of the world. Sometimes, the admins are wrong, and you may know it. That is OK, everyone makes mistakes, but to go to their talkpage and leave disrespectful and rude comments is not the right way to go about things. If we want to get our point across to the leaders of this wiki, we have to maintain the utmost respect for those leaders. Do I agree with everything that is done? No, and I don't expect or think that anyone does. But when something is decided, we should be 100% behind it, no matter how much we don't like it. The point of this wiki is "The purpose for PvXbuilds.com is to provide a central site for Guild Wars players to both review and submit builds for the community to share. This site firmly believes that builds can be sucessfully maintained and shared via a wiki." To make sure that this happens, we need to focus on working together, rather than squabbling amongst ourselves about "something someone said that isn't right, but now I'm going to make it worse by yelling." So I leave you with this
