NOTE: Voting on the Joke and Realistic skills will commence when I finish adding the finalists to the talk page and will end Augusts around 20th. The third category did not have enough entries and so will not be judged
The following contest has already been judged and thus no further submissions should be made. Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this page.
Alright, welcome to version 2 of my design-a-skill contest. We need something to do until the vetting system can be implemented ;). This is gonna work the same as the last one did, but, there is going to be an additional category, for a total of three.
The first category is for joke skills. They will be judged on how funny they are, but, note that a ridiculously overpowered skill may not be as funny as a skill like Wrath of Skuld which has the value of being an inside joke. Other things beyond the skill itself will also effect the score, like the image and the name.
The second category is for realistic skills. These are skills that do not exist but that you think should. They may be elite, non-elite, whatever, however, they must be for an existing profession and must be linked to an existing attribute (or unlinked as the case may be). These will be judged on creativity, how well it would work, how realistic it is (i.e. is it balanced, does it make sense), etc.
The third category allows you to be A-Net, and balance skills. Essentially, you take an existing skill, and then either buff it or nerf it in a specific fashion. For this category, you merely need to say what skill you are changing, and then, write a paragraph or more about what the changes you think should be made and the reasons for those changes. Other stuff to include might be a sample build demonstrating a new use for the skill after the buff/nerf or where it might fit in a new meta or whatever. Please note that like the second category, this is for realistic changes only, nerfing an overpowered skill, buffing an underpowered skill, but not buffing an already overpowered skill or buffing a bad skill so it becomes insanely good, etc. In the case of this category, submissions will be judged based on "the most needed nerf/buff," as well as how realistic the changes are.
There will be finalists and winners for each section. Finalists will be chosen by me and the other Admins, and then, voting will be made open to the public which will influence who the actual winner is. All three categories will have an individual set of finalists and winner(s).
A couple of other things for the first two categories. You must have a skill icon as well as a skill page. Assuming it is linked, you will also need a progression table. Essentially, you should treat these like you were creating an article for a real skill, although, obviously, these should be in your user space. And, you may use an existing page or skill that you created at a previous date, however, if you choose to use an old one, you may lose points on creativity, but, if you already came up with the best skill or the funniest skill, then feel free to submit it. Note however, that submissions to my first Skill Design Contest will not be accepted for this contest.
To sign up, add your name below to the appropriate category, and, once you have made the page, add the link to this page. For example:
You may add as many as you wish to any of the categories, but quality is much more important than quantity, and I reserve the right to not look at or take points away from submissions created by people who try to flood this section. Note that only registered users will be allowed to participate. Good Luck!
