FANDOM

This is a project I'm working on to make uw accessible to everyone again. Construction of party is basic.

  • 2 Tanks
  • 4 Damage
  • 2 Healers/Support

But you may want to change this construction depending on experience and what professions you wish to include.

Main Tanks

I don't have every build, so use your own variation as you see fit.

Stone Ranger

<pvxbig> [build prof=R/E EarthMagic=12 AirMagic=12][Glyph of Swiftness][Glyph of Concentration][Obsidian Flesh][Kinetic Armor][Stone Striker][Enervating Charge][Shell Shock][Whirlwind][/build] </pvxbig>

Equipment

  • Armor: Earthbound Insignias, Best Vigor Rune you can afford, Runes of Attunement.
  • Weapons: 1/2 skill recharge of earth 20%, 20 energy, enchanting earth staff.

Usage

  • Use Obsidian Flesh and Stonestriker to mitigate any dmg lower than Aatxe level.
  • Kinetic Armor and spam other skills to keep aatxe damage at manageable levels.
  • If you have problems staying alive during vengeful aatxe fights, take off shellshock and use Mental Block
  • Allow Terrorwebs to attempt to kill you, it's hilarious that they can't succeed, and it means less spells on the party. When fighting Smite Crawlers, make em blow energy on conditions and crap instead of actually healing. Gather as many spirits as you can in vale and make sure monk defends one of the allied ones. It goes very quickly if you have sos or a rit with ancestors rage. If using glaive or holy scythe, it's a lot of fun.
  • Energy comes from one of the monks using Balthazar's Spirit on you, so don't fret.

Counters

  • Rend Enchantments and other Enchantment removal that succeeds during Obsidian Flesh's downtime.
  • Shock
  • Interrupts (shouldn't be a problem though if using SS or the clumsiness mesmer build.)

A/Mo 600 Tank

<pvxbig> [build prof=A/Mo ShadowArts=12+1+3 ProtectionPrayers=12 Deadly=3][Essence Bond][Balthazar's Spirit][Deadly Paradox][Shadow Form][Protective Spirit][Spirit Bond][Shielding Hands][Shield of Absorption][/build] </pvxbig>

Equipment

  • Armor: 3 pieces of lowest armor (25) at Shing Jea or 15 Noob armor. Radiant Insignias and Attunement runes.
  • Weapons: 1/2 skill recharge 20%, 20 energy, enchanting Prot staff.

Usage

  • Use Shadow Form and Protective Spirit to remain alive.
  • Spirit Bond Spamming this keeps you from dying after 10 hits.
  • Use Shield of Absorption and alternate with Shielding Hands during fights with Vengefuls or more than 6 enemies. If having trouble, bring the prot monk and ctrl click shield of absorption right b4 ur about to lose it so you don't get outpaced. With celerity though, that shouldn't be possible.
  • Allow Terrorwebs to attempt to kill you, it's hilarious that they can't succeed, and it means less spells on the party. When fighting Smite Crawlers, get as many as possible up to 20 if your party can handle breaks. Gather as many spirits as you can in vale and make sure monk defends one of the allied ones and maybe uses Seed of Life on you. It goes very quickly if you have sos or a rit with ancestors rage. If using glaive or holy scythe, it's a lot of fun.

Counters

  • Rend Enchantments and other Enchantment removal that succeeds through interrupt or down of Shadow form.
  • Shock
  • Interrupts (shouldn't be a problem though if using SS or the clumsiness mesmer build. And hello, 1/4 second cast times!)

* The warrior and ele variants and tanks also work for all purposes down here.

Damage

Elementalists

E/Me KD Destroyers

<pvxbig> [build prof=E/Me EarthMagic=12+1+3 EnergyStorage=11+3 InspirationMagic=6][Aura of Restoration][Earth Attunement][Mantra of Resolve][Meteor Shower][Arcane Echo][Sandstorm][Ebon Hawk][Glowstone][/build] </pvxbig>

Equipment

  • Armor: Max. If using Greater Conflagration, using pyromancer may be to your best interests. Vigor and Vitae.
  • Weapons: 40/40 earth set so that Sandstorm doesn't always take forever. A 20 energy, enchanting, 20% 1/2 skill recharge of earth staff.

Usage

* Note: if you use this as damage, having 2 or more makes it much less dangerous to run, especially if the kd is split to be only a half second apart. Enemies will have absolutely 0 chance to split off, and they WILL be dead by the time sandstorm runs out. Use Ebon Hawk for the occassional break so enemies don't completely rip the party apart. Using shelter or a prot monk should keep this from happening anyway.

  • Use Mantra of Resolve (for interrupts in chaos plains) and Meteor Shower make sure the start of cast times is maybe a half second to a second apart so that enemies literally have 0 time standing up and time to run.
  • Sandstorm Echoing and spamming this will take out most if not all mobs that have been well-balled up.
  • Use Ebon Hawk and Glowstone to both weaken enemies and restore energy.
  • Make sure both or more eles have meteor shower fully recharged. In the time it takes the tank to ball and the time for sandstorm, or going between parties, it should come back up. Wait for tank to ping, and then announce your cast with ctrl click. Keep the cast times close. You should see the meteors go 11,22,33. or it should be close to a perfect beat of 1-1-2-2.

Counters

  • Energy denial.
  • Shock
  • Interrupts
  • Misstime of meteor shower or heavy breaks.

Other Options

Searing Flames x2 or More

<pvxbig> [build prof=E/Me FireMagic=12+1+3 EnergyStorage=11+3 InspirationMagic=6][Aura of Restoration][Fire Attunement][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Mark of Rodgort][Searing Flames][Glowing Gaze][Mantra of Resolve][Meteor Shower][/build] </pvxbig>

  • Echo Savannah Heat, Deep Freeze, Meteor Shower works well, but fire resistance in uw is pretty high.
  • go /Rt and use modified DoA DWG builds. See DoA Glaiveway for builds.
  • go /N and use modified SS or SV

Mesmers

(My favorite class)

Panic Mesmer

<pvxbig> [build prof=Me/Me DominationMagic=12+1+3 InspirationMagic=11+3 FastCasting=6][Mantra of Resolve][Auspicious Incantation][Arcane Echo][Panic][Complicate][Mistrust][Overload][Power Drain][/build] </pvxbig>

Equipment

  • Armor: Max. Best Vigor Rune, Attunement and Radiant Insignias.
  • Weapons: 40/40 Domination set with 20 energy emergency staff.

Usage

* Note: This is best used in tandem with the Shared Burden build, especially on Chaos Plains. I know theres the Hexbreaker issue, but that's why we have tanks and a monk or ST rit.

  • It's a synergistic build that is a pain in the ass to fight, go nuts.

Counters

  • Energy denial.
  • Shock
  • Interrupts (Mantra of Resolve being down tisk tisk)

Shared Burden Mesmer

<pvxbig> [build prof=Me/Me IllusionMagic=12+1+3 InspirationMagic=11+3 FastCasting=6][Mantra of Resolve][Auspicious Incantation][Arcane Echo][Shared Burden][Clumsiness][Wandering Eye][Signet of Clumsiness][Power Drain][/build] </pvxbig>

Equipment

  • Armor: Max. Best Vigor Rune, Attunement and Radiant Insignias.
  • Weapons: 40/40 Illusion set with 20 energy emergency staff.

Usage

* Note: This is best used in tandem with the Panic build, especially on Chaos Plains.

VoR Mesmer

<pvxbig> [build prof=Me/Me DominationMagic=12+1+3 InspirationMagic=11+3 FastCasting=6][Mantra of Resolve][Auspicious Incantation][Arcane Echo][Visions of Regret][Complicate][Mistrust][Overload][Power Drain][/build] </pvxbig>

Equipment

  • Armor: Max. Best Vigor Rune, Attunement and Radiant Insignias.
  • Weapons: 40/40 Domination set with 20 energy emergency staff.

Usage

* Note: Do not use this with other mesmer builds which hex. It cuts VoR's power in half. You will have to power through Hex Breaker where you find it, sorry.

Counters

  • Energy denial.
  • Shock
  • Interrupts (Mantra of Resolve being down tisk tisk)

Other Options

I'm open to suggestions just post in the discussion page (Do not delete this line!)

Necromancers

  • Discord team of 2 or more. (Self explanatory)
  • SS (Remind tank to use wall-blocking techniques!)
  • Support build from uwsc using splinter weapon or gdw and ancestor's rage.

Rangers

  • Trap Team (Slow, but effective) Bring Pain Inverter for Obsidian Behemoths so tank can run into traps and kill them from damage.
  • Incendiary Arrows Squad 2x or more
  • Barrage 2x or more.

Dervishes

Avatar of Grenth is the best for Chaos Plains and Bone Pits, but Avatar of Balthazar has highest defense and does double damage to all of dhuum's underlings.

Ritualists

  • Spirit spam tandem with 2 or more people
  • 2x or more Glaive spikers. (Bring Ancestor's Rage and Spirit Rift so Tank can kill Obsidian Behemoths)

Paragons

(Incomplete, need suggestions!)

Imbagon

<pvxbig> [build prof=P/W spear=8+1 command=10+1 leader=12+1+1]["Save Yourselves!" (Kurzick)]["There's Nothing to Fear!"][they're on fire][Spear of Fury][Holy Spear][focused anger][blazing finale]["We Shall Return!"][/build] </pvxbig>

Equipment

  • Armor: Full Centurion's Insignias and a Rune of Clarity (reduce blind 20%), Command shield with +10vs demons (can be found in DoA) or the inscription "I Can See Clearly Now" (reduce blind 20%).
  • Weapons: Furious Spear of Fortitude or Defense with the "I Have the Power" inscription (+5 energy). An emergency 20 energy staff for rezzing.

Usage

  • Keep "Save Yourselves!" and "There's Nothing to Fear!" up as much as possible.
  • Use Blazing Finale on Tank(s) to spread burning. Use "They're on Fire!" when the party is covered with Blazing Finale to sufficiently spread burning for added damage reduction.
  • Make good use of your holy spear on spirits in the mountains or on minions in bone pits. Bring Wild Throw if you seem to be having trouble making progress in the Mountains.

* Don't use this build if the paragon is assisting a 600 tank. The extra armor will keep spirit bond from working and you'll lose your tank.

Healers

Standard UA Heal Monk

<pvxbig> [build prof=Mo/E HealingPrayers=12+1+3 DivineFavor=12+3][Unyielding Aura][Dwaynas Kiss][Healing Seed][Seed of Life][Heal Other][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Heal Party][Air of Superiority][/build] </pvxbig>

Variants

This completely depends on ur tank. If you have the Ranger tank, take out Glyph of Lesser energy and Air of Superiority and run Essence bond as well as Balthazar's spirit on him.

It would also probably be a benefit to run essence bond on the 600 tank because he will never be in a fight where he takes 0 theoretical dmg. Infinite energy is a +?

Equipment

  • Armor: Max. Best Vigor Rune, Attunement and Radiant Insignias.
  • Weapons: 40/40 Healing set with 20 energy emergency staff.

Usage

  • This healer can stand alone if it needs to. If the party wishes to split in 2, it's best that there be at least another healer or support. Heal and Ressurrect people, easy enough.

Counters

  • Energy denial.
  • Shock
  • Interrupts

Standard UA Prot Monk

<pvxbig> [build prof=Mo/Rt ProtectionPrayers=12+1+3 DivineFavor=3 RestorationMagic=12][Unyielding Aura][Protective Spirit][Shielding Hands][Seed of Life][Spirit Light][Remove Hex][Mend Body and Soul][Essence Bond][/build] </pvxbig>

Variants

If you have no source of spirits, pour the rest of your points back into divine favor, use dismiss condition in place of mend body and soul, and use Spirit Bond or Shield of Absorption in place of spirit Light.

This can be run as rit primary for greater healing, but less time on enchantments.

Equipment

  • Armor: Max. Best Vigor Rune, Attunement and Radiant Insignias.
  • Weapons: 20 energy enchanting, 20% 1/2 skill recharge prot staff.

Usage

  • This healer can stand alone if it needs to. If the party wishes to split in 2, it's best that there be at least another healer or support. Protect and Ressurrect people, easy enough.

Counters

  • Energy denial.
  • Shock
  • Interrupts

UA Bonder

<pvxbig> [build prof=Mo ProtectionPrayers=12+1+3 DivineFavor=12+3][Unyielding Aura][Life Bond][Balthazar's Spirit][Protective Spirit][Shielding Hands][Remove Hex][Dismiss Condition][Seed of Life][/build] </pvxbig>

Variants

This build is to support any Obsidian Flesh builds. If using the ranger build, it should only require smaller assistance from shielding hands. If it keeps dying, his armor is incomplete or he forgot to maintain kinetic armor. 115 armor vs earth dmg and then adding 20 +68 means he should take minimal damage even from aatxes.

Equipment

  • Armor: Max. Best Vigor Rune, Attunement and Radiant Insignias.
  • Weapons: 20 energy enchanting, 20% 1/2 skill recharge prot staff.

Usage

  • Bond Obsidian Flesh tank with Life Bond and Balthazar's Spirit and then bond urself with Balthazar's Spirit for your own energy maintenance.

Counters

  • Energy denial.
  • Shock
  • Interrupts

ST Support

<pvxbig> [build prof=Rt/Mo Communing=12+1+3 SpawningPower=12+3 RestorationMagic=3][Soul Twisting][Shelter][Union][Signet of Creation][Spirit Light][Mend Body and Soul][Flesh of My Flesh][Essence Bond][/build] </pvxbig>

Equipment

  • Armor: Max. Best Vigor Rune, Attunement and Radiant Insignias.
  • Weapons: 20 energy 20% 1/2 skill recharge of resto staff.

Usage

  • This can be used anywhere as a decent heal in addition to keeping the party almost indestructible. I don't use Displacement because it dies too quickly and is therefore a waste of energy.

Counters

  • Energy denial.
  • Shock
  • Interrupts (Stay on the back line doh!)

Final Notes

Be Creative. Any mix of damage will eventually work out. At Dhuum, have 1 tank die, preferrably an obi flesh tank, to become a ghost and support the reapers and get rid of dp. I'd reccommend using the ST rit for everywhere in uw even if its res is not the greatest. Have Protective Spirit cast before shelter is placed so that it isn't instantly killed by tank if using 600. If you keep the entire party together and use the wall-block method, have one tank pull, and have the other act as a second block so that absolute perfection isn't required. Depending on how you go about the Sevants of Grenth quest in Ice Wastes and what tanks you use, you may have to split your party in 2. Don't try to do it with only four people.
