The Keystone Smiter is a Signet-based Smiting Prayers build, using the rarely-seen Elite Keystone Signet to create quick-looping Signet chains and faster shutdown. Designed for DE's LAME Build Contest, this build can be useful in various arenas and PvE areas.

  • Resurrection Signet can be replaced with a different resurrection skill, if multiple resurrections are going to be needed. Keep Fast Casting in mind when choosing a resurrection skill.


  • Artificer's Insignia, Inspiration Magic Headgear, Minor Runes for both Inspiration and Fast Casting, and the best Vigor Rune you can get. The remaining armor pieces should be equipped with Runes of Vitae.
  • Your choice of weaponry is up to you; HCT and HSR mods won't effect Signets, as they're not spells, so using such mods is unneeded. Energy is also unneeded, as your skillbar costs a total of 10 energy every 80~ seconds. Defensive mods such as +45 health while in a stance, and +5 armor -5 energy are ideal. Attribute +1 mods are also good for Smiting and Inspiration items.


Keep Mantra of Inscriptions up at all times. When engaging, pick a target and unload Bane, Rage, and Humility on them. Picking an attacking Warrior target will deal the most damage from Bane and Rage, while Humility can be useful on nearly any build; keep an eye out for important, fast-recharging Elites. With the Mantra active, you can keep the Elite skill constantly disabled on a single character, so pick a target wisely; for example, using Humility on an Elementalist with Searing Flames will most likely shut down their entire battle plan. After you've fired off the first shot of signets, use Keystone Signet to recharge quickly and re-cast. Keep Bane and Rage targeted on attackers, and Humility on key Elites. Signet of Disenchantment can be used with little to no drawback as much as you like; you have no use for energy except for the Mantra, so remove enchantments whenever you see the chance. Purge Signet can be used in a similar manner, removing key conditions and hexes quickly from your team. Also keep in mind, your Fast Casting will allow you to resurrect much faster then other players. Use this to your advantage.


Anti-Signet skills, such as Ignorance, will completely shut you down.


For a more defensive role, your attributes can be changed to Healing Prayers instead of Smiting, to allow the use of Signet of Rejuvenation as a free heal. A skill such as Leech Signet can be useful as an interrupt as well.
