It would be more, but I must have deleted all my old shittery or something. I can't find my rage from when I made a Rt/A SS daggers build and freaked when people questioned it. So, that stuff must have been on one of my IP's or something. KarateJesus 21:37, 7 July 2010
You're in my first archive being badass and using an IP to bypass a ban. --Short 21:38, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
Sweet. I was pretty hardcore for a while. Being an admin does something to curve that, I guess. I rarely rage on shittery now. Although, I have banned like 5 people lately, and gave Docta a month for something small. Meh. KarateJesus 21:40, 7 July 2010
I'm telling you Jon, that diet of wooden poles does make you stuck up. ---Chaos- (moo!) -- 21:42, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
I must've missed that last one. >.> --Short 21:43, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
Or all the work/personal shit I've been doing lately. I'm busy like 99% of the time now. I got a call at 2am from my staff trying to get me to come into work. I told them to fuck off and do their jobs. I think that kind of stuff makes me too tired to care about spouting off long rants of awesomeness like I used to. KarateJesus 21:46, 7 July 2010
didn't have to ban rask for a month but it is hilarious--Relyktalk 03:06, July 8, 2010 (UTC)
Isn't Docta Jenkins Thunda? That's what he told me. KarateJesus 21:50, 7 July 2010
idk i went by the talk page. i thought thunda was rask as well. I get mixed up with all the alt identities on this site now. hai rogue--Relyktalk 22:16, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
is rask. not thunda. it should be obvious since Docta Jenkins never talked about getting high and used the word nigger only half as much as thunda or any of thunda's socks. ···Danny SoCute05:50, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
I thought he was Rask 'cause he referred to himself as rasky on this site somewhere, but then everyone said he was Thunda so I shut up. --Short 09:02, July 8, 2010 (UTC)
Ye I too began wondering when he said it's Thunda, I'm pretty sure it's rask, but kept my mouth shut because this confuses me :p ---Chaos- (moo!) -- 11:35, July 8, 2010 (UTC)
i can't confirm either way, but when i was talking to KJ on MSN yesterday about Jenkins ban, i mentioned I thought it was rask, but KJ told me that it was definitely Thunda because he'd told him he was going to make the account before he made it. Apparently Rask is using some variation of his original account. ~ PheNaxKiantalk 11:46, July 8, 2010 (UTC)
Thunda told me before the account was made that he was going to make an account named Docta Jenkins. I assumed it had something to do with his strange love for Biggles. And I thought Rask had some other account around here.
Meh, doesn't matter to me, honestly. Either way, either one of them shouldn't be vandal trolls w/o consequences. KarateJesus 13:11, 8 July 2010
Kinda opposite really. Plus all the bans and treats of perma's....hardly carebear.---XTREME 14:52, July 9, 2010 (UTC)
*Threats of permas. And there aren't many of those. Just the two currently against the whiny new user who "removed his build from PvX 'cuz we're not mature blah blah" and Rask/Thunda (w/e the fuck that is). KarateJesus 15:11, 9 July 2010
Do I have to stop trolling baby? I'm awfully good at it. Misery 13:21, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
No, you're too damn good. So damn good, in fact, that no one will be aware that you are trolling. I mostly meant the no-name guy and the idiots trying to troll him off-site. KarateJesus 13:23, 12 July 2010
Heya, KJ. Haven't seen much of you at the official wiki. Hope all is well.
I generally create my own builds and I use PvX a lot to make sure I'm not doing something st00pid or failing to take advantage of something clever. However, I find it difficult to search for builds here. (Please let me know if I'm going about it the wrong way.) I wonder whether you might be interested in setting up some alternative search tools.
Here's some examples of where I run into trouble:
Suppose I want to find a good team build that I can morph into something that will work in an area that's giving me trouble. I go to the main page, look at Special:PrefixIndex/Build:Team. Great! Lots of builds. Unfortunately, these include archived builds.
Suppose I am interested in how other people incorporate an interesting skill into their builds. If the skill isn't an elite, is there a way to do that here? If the skill is an elite, but used in a team build, how would I find it? For now, I put together a Google search (linked on my main page) that allows me to find builds rated Good/Excellent and haven't been archived. (By adding, inurl:Build:xx, I can also restrict the search to team builds or profession-specific varieties.)
Thanks for your attention. —TEF (WTB: sig) 17:33, July 13, 2010 (UTC)
Hey, Tennessee. I'm doing fine. Just avoiding the wiki a little since the mass banning/trolling fest. I don't know if I can help on the first suggestion; however, on the second try something like this. If you use our advanced search and select "Builds", then you should be able to get similar results. Let me know if that's helpful. KarateJesus 17:43, 13 July 2010
can i just point out, we have links on the main page to the "great" and "good" (as well as a few more) builds of a given area... ~ PheNaxKiantalk 19:06, July 13, 2010 (UTC)
@KJ: glad you are well. Things seem calm now at GWW (then again, I wasn't around for the massiveness, so ... what do I know). So, the first choice on the link you provided was, this one, which is archived. Which is why I use Google. :-/
Anyhow, for the moment, I have something that works for me. OTOH, if you think figuring out how to ignore archived builds might be useful here, let's figure something out. I've mentioned the idea to Mendel, who can help (should we decide to go that route). Thanks for taking the time to respond. —TEF (WTB: sig) 23:17, July 13, 2010 (UTC)
The first plan would be useful if we could hornswaggle it. A drastic alternative is just making another namespace for archived builds, since honestly, most of them will never come back to the meta. (if you guys like this plan, it can take off pretty easily).
Gcardinal had plans to allow searching for builds by attributes and specific skills, but never got around to putting it in before he lost interest. I doubt we could convince wikia to code it for us, although if we had the code on-hand they could probably copypaste it. -Auron 23:25, July 13, 2010 (UTC)
You don't use Wikis for the kinda shit you're talking about. You'd use something that was meant to be search by attribute, like Drupal or some shit. ···Danny SoCute02:55, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
I'm happy with having an "Archive"/"Archived" namespace (though I should point out, we won't be able to request any more custom namespaces after this (wikia only allows 3 at a time)).
As for an advance search extension...I doubt even if we (assuming we found someone who was willing to) code it, that they'd add it, considering we've not heard back about PvP skill IDs and template codes still =/ (though they might, I don't know really) ~ PheNaxKiantalk 14:01, July 14, 2010 (UTC)
Let's try setting up the Archive namespace. I'm fine with that, and it makes sense. And I've emailed TOR numerous times about the skill updates. He hasn't responded. KarateJesus 14:24, 14 July 2010
Removing archival builds from Build will help a lot. Even using regular wiki search would be more likely to get a good result for a specific skill. (If not, it's not that hard to add a Google search on the navbar that could look for Good/Great in the build space.) Thanks for making this happen. —Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:32, July 14, 2010 (UTC)
Np. I guess we should email wikia about this, huh? Phen, you seem to know about this, what's the procedure? KarateJesus 16:53, 14 July 2010
provided everyone's happy with the idea, amke sure there's no pages with "namespace:some page title" (where "namespace" is what we want to call the namespace). Then we just send them an e-mail (Special:Contact) and ask them if they can add a namspace called "Archive" (it helps if you include some other dettail i belive. see here for more info ) ~ PheNaxKiantalk 16:59, July 14, 2010 (UTC)
Ok. I'm in the middle of a swamp-fest at work, so I can do it this afternoon unless you'd prefer to do it yourself. KarateJesus 17:02, 14 July 2010
Right. Wikia have added the archive namespace (and respective talk), however, I suggest holding off on using it for a little bit. The reason for that is because Auron had me put in a related request (about having the rating page available, but locked (or have impossible requirements to vote)), and they currently have a back log of work, so we don't know if it's possible, so moving now would lose the ratings. ~ PheNaxKiantalk 18:09, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
Errr... to the OP, what's wrong with using categories like Category:Great_working_general_builds (which are clearly link to on the main page) to find general builds? These catagories purely contain current vetted builds. AthrunFeya 22:55, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
We don't edit comments. We can remove them, but we rarely edit them. They've been warned (by the section I made). Trust me, if there is any more asshattery on that talk page, someone will take a break :D KarateJesus 22:10, 13 July 2010
I wasn't involved or aware. I've moved on to botting other games and actually made it into an MW2 tournament recently. Also work has swallowed my life. ···Danny SoCute03:13, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Modern Warfare 2 tourney? Xbox, PS3 or PC? I want a PC tourney for it :< Tru...hardlyworking 13:28, July 14, 2010 (UTC)
Why is the requirement to vote so low? 5 edits literally takes a minute to do and can even be minor edits. I really do believe it should be up to around 100 edits before even thinking to allow people to vote. If it would be that high, that would allow people of the community to see what this person is like, autism and all. Mind enlightening me to why it is so low? wikia. it's a mediawiki setting that requires server access, so we can't control it really. ~ PheNaxKiantalk 18:45, July 14, 2010 (UTC)
